Since early 2020, Amazon’s profits have grown nearly 200% and according to the Mastercard Economics Institute, online consumer purchases increased by $900 billion in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. In this new normal, it is no surprise that eCommerce is here to stay and the digital space is the new, best location to create a new business.
Brianna Meighan is one female founder who has leveraged Amazon to build an eCommerce empire.
Prior to selling on Amazon, Brianna Meighan was already an established name, having worked as an international model and TV host for E! Entertainment Television. Brianna discovered her love for working and generating her own source of income at an early age. “My first job was at age 14 at my neighbourhood bagel bakery. I couldn’t wait to be able to start working and earning my own money,” Brianna fondly recalls.
However, her mindset shifted after the birth of her sons. “I knew that I wanted to build a business that would allow me to work from home and that would also continue to generate income 24/7,” shared Brianna.
Her work experience in front of the camera as a TV host and model was that of any traditional job, “I was exchanging my time for a paycheck and so I realized that I wanted to create a business that would allow me to automate this so that instead, I could spend my time with my children and doing the things I love—all while generating an income.” In 2015, Brianna soon discovered a way to build, own, and control her brand and products by selling on Amazon, through a program better known as Amazon FBA or Fulfilment by Amazon. Once she understood that selling on Amazon was her opportunity to gain financial freedom, Brianna Meighan dove head first into entrepreneurship.
“I literally started my Amazon FBA business sitting at my kitchen table and with a $5000 investment,” recalls Brianna Meighan. Despite her lack of experience in eCommerce, she knew that selling on Amazon was an excellent business opportunity to launch her products and grow her brand. “Selling on Amazon is so phenomenal because the conversion rates are so high. People rarely go to Amazon to just window shop — instead consumers go to Amazon with the intent to buy and this is why having products available on Amazon is a recipe for success,” explains Brianna Meighan. Since 2015, she has created an eCommerce empire, building multiple brands and Amazon stores, all while working 95% of the time remotely from her iPhone. From a one-time $5,000 investment, to generating six figures per month, and in barely five years, Brianna Meighan is proof that selling on Amazon FBA was the right business move to make.
“What I love most about selling on Amazon FBA is that once you learn how to sell on Amazon, it’s an education that you have for life and you can simply copy/paste the business model a million times over and over again and apply it to any new product or brand or retail niche,” explains Brianna Meighan.
The former E! TV host and international model strives to inspire other people to build their own dream businesses just as she has. “I know that if I can do it, anyone can do it! All it takes is that ‘take action’ attitude and a commitment to learn how the business works,” she tells people.
With a handful of achievements under her belt, Brianna Meighan is eyeing a more relaxed future on the horizon as she plans to live between Aspen and Panama with her sons. Passionate about the process of creating products and growing brands from scratch, she will continue to explore new ventures while imparting her Amazon FBA seller success and knowledge with others.
