How Cameron Galeno Is Modernizing the Contracting Industry Through AI and Automation

Founder of maidphone.AI, Cameron Galeno, is on a mission to bring intelligent automation, lead response systems, and modern marketing infrastructure to contracting businesses nationwide.

Most contractors don’t lose business because they lack skill. They lose business because they lack systems.

That’s the problem Cameron Galeno saw firsthand after growing up in a family deeply rooted in the contracting industry. His father owns two established contracting companies, Colonial Landscaping & Masonry Inc. and P. Pohorence & Sons Landscaping Inc., both family-run operations that have served the New York market for decades.

A Background in Marketing and Service Work

Before launching maidphone.AI, Galeno spent years working in sales and marketing, including time at a high-growth marketing technology company in the private market.

But instead of staying in corporate marketing, he decided to bring modern automation and customer communication systems directly to local service businesses.

To better understand the operational side of the industry, Galeno went back into the field, working within his family’s companies while also launching his own service business, Scrub Love Cleaning Co.

“That’s where I really saw the disconnect,” says Galeno. “A lot of contractors are incredible operators, but they’re still missing calls, manually following up, or losing opportunities simply because they don’t have the right systems in place.”

Building Infrastructure for Contractors

That experience led to the launch of maidphone.AI, a company focused on helping contractors modernize lead response, customer communication, follow-up, reviews, and online presence through automation and AI-powered systems.

Rather than positioning the company as a traditional marketing agency, Galeno says the focus is on building infrastructure that helps businesses operate more efficiently.

“We’re not trying to sell fluff,” he explains. “We’re helping contractors build systems that save time, improve customer experience, and help convert more of the opportunities they’re already getting.”

Much of the contracting industry still operates on manual workflows that have not kept up with how customers communicate today. Homeowners regularly reach out to several contractors at once and tend to hire whichever business responds first. For owners juggling job sites and crews, that response gap can quietly cost them work they would otherwise win.

The Shift Toward Smarter Operations

Since launching, maidphone.AI has gained traction among contractors looking for practical solutions to modernize and scale their businesses without the complexity of large software platforms or expensive agencies.

As AI and automation continue reshaping industries worldwide, Galeno believes the contracting industry is only beginning its shift toward smarter operations and better customer communication.

Through maidphone.AI, he hopes to help lead that transition.
