Becoming a hedge fund manager can be rewarding. However, it comes with long hours and requires critical thinking and the ability to make good decisions. Hedge fund managers manage a pool of funds called hedge funds that are generally at higher risk and need daily proactive management. Hedge fund managers can earn a high income through the fees they charge, and it’s no surprise that top hedge fund managers charge a 2% management fee and a 20% performance fee. Equally, hedge fund manager jobs are extremely competitive, and surplus financial certifications and experience may be required to aid job applicants to stand out.
Komey Tetteh is a business investor, financial trader, and hedge fund manager living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He became a freelance hedge fund trader in 2017 after displaying superior, consistent returns in the financial markets and now offers his services to various institutions. Komey’s most recent venture is the institutional trader gap project, where he enables traders to communicate directly with the markets using advanced bridge technology.
The institutional trader project uses relationships built over the years in the industry, eliminating the middleman from trading while giving professional traders direct liquidity terminals and clients access that was previously only the privilege of the wealthy.
Komey’s journey started in humble beginnings, initially in a service desk career working for one of the big four accounting firms, but he quickly realized real wealth would never be created by staying in a desk job.
Komey started investing in the stock market in 2010. Having built a multi-year track record, he started managing portfolios and growing them into multi-million funds today. In 2020 Komey began investing in other projects and start-up companies and has grown his business investing portfolio extensively.
As a freelance hedge fund manager, he uses average tools to produce extraordinary results in the financial markets. He provides trading services for hedge funds with over 100 million in capital under management. Hedge fund managers typically own or work for an organization, but as a freelancer, Money adds value and additional strategies to existing funds.
As a popular financial trader, Komey is proud to have traded regulated products under the supervision of the top global jurisdictions and highly regulated ASIC (Australia regs) and FCA (UK regs) funds, becoming one of the principal funds they offer. However, his path to success has not been a walk in the park. Komey reveals, “Living alone from age fifteen, I quickly had to learn how to start producing an income, which I did initially by counterfeiting identification, enabling me to get jobs to provide essential needs.”
Komey added, “I worked all night and went to school/college during the day. I continued this during university, where the toughest challenge was presented. In-between jobs, I was made homeless. Fortunately, I had a student bus pass and used the bus as a home while I looked for jobs and hostels to keep a roof over my head. I used gym showers to wash my clothes and keep them clean, and within a month, I found a job that agreed to pay me a couple of weeks in advance. All this happened when I was at university. I completed my degree and got a job.”
The celebrated business investor shares that life is 90% of how you act in the situations presented to you. You are the star of your movie, so you should act like it. He looks forward to managing 500 million across all the funds and deals signed in the coming years.
