Miami kinetic artist Brandon Amira of Brandon Amira Designs is disrupting the American modern interior design industry with the reveal of a new modern living collection featuring his innovative, patented embedded lighting technology.
The first piece in Amira’s new modern interior living collection is LUMA, available in three distinct sizes: Small (21 inches), Medium (35 inches), and Large (63 inches). “Small LUMA is ideal for sitting on nightstands and tables while Medium LUMA and Large LUMA can be positioned on the floor by themselves, representing a modern light fixture and sleek sculpture accessory that transforms the look and feel of a space,” said Brandon Amira, a Turkish-Cuban American artist and designer born and raised in Miami. “In addition to these three standard ultra-refined sizes, we also offer custom, specialty design orders of LUMA for special interior home projects and settings.”
Made from metal featuring two illuminating lines of glowing light, LUMA was inspired by Amira’s ongoing exploration of light as a primary medium. “I created LUMA with a continuous glow that brings clarity and a sense of calm to a space. The light is intentionally concealed within the structure, allowing it to emerge subtly from within. Defined with minimalist metal lines, the sculpture enhances its surroundings while maintaining a quiet architectural presence,” Amira said.
Balancing sculptural form with functional design, LUMA is the first piece revealed from Amira’s modern interior home design collection. “I initially conceptualized and created LUMA to transform ambient lighting into an artistic experience. I did this through refined geometry and a restrained aesthetic that allows the light sculpture to complement a range of contemporary interiors while serving as a distinctive focal point,” Amira stated.
The debut of LUMA follows the success of Amira’s illuminating exterior collection, which prominently featured Middle River™️, an electronic modern sliding gate recognized for its minimalist design and integrated lighting technology. Positioned in both indoor and outdoor settings, Amira’s light structures and statues always explore the relationship between light, structure, and movement.
With a background in construction and engineering, Amira has spent the last decade designing and fabricating custom sculptures, architectural features, and large-scale installations for residential and commercial environments. His work combines premium materials with innovative technology to create pieces engineered for longevity and visual impact. “Creating art through the medium of kinetic light and integrating it into metal structures is something I’m deeply passionate about,” Amira said. “Every piece is an opportunity to explore how light can transform the way we experience form and space.”
LUMA is part of Amira’s ongoing Parallel Series, a body of work that examines light as both a visual and architectural element. The collection allows his larger sculptural works to seamlessly integrate into intimate residential interiors and curated environments.
Conceived for sophisticated homes and design-driven spaces, LUMA incorporates Amira’s patented concealed illumination system, a technology he developed over the past two years and has since integrated into multiple sculptures and architectural structures. By embedding light directly within each art piece, LUMA reveals shifting perspectives and subtle layers of depth from different angles. “Each LUMA sculpture is custom-crafted, reflecting a balance of technical precision and artistic intention. The result is a work that does more than illuminate a room; it shapes atmospheres, defines spaces, and invites interaction,” Amira continued.
