Book Author Suzette Shanle Expresses Her Trauma Through Her Clothing Line

People who have experienced trauma in life cope in different ways. Most of the time, what works for some does not necessarily mean it will work for everyone else. Some have found refuge in sports, and others resorted to music, dancing, painting, writing poetry, gardening, or photography, to mention a few. The ultimate goal is to begin the process of healing and recovery in a way that still makes the person productive. This is how it has been for book author Suzette Shanle, who wrote an autobiography titled Suzette’s Daddy Issues to narrate her heartbreaking and challenging experiences with her father.

By sharing her autobiography, Suzette intended to empower people living with trauma to overcome their painful past. Her book had a gripping effect on some people and was described as a read that is not for the faint of heart. But she did it to expose the violence in her life and spark hope among her readers.

“My book for sale is my personal life story. I had many heartbreaks and challenges. I am the underdog in my book and life. Persistence and perseverance has led me to create beautiful works of art whether it be in paintings or writing. I am my brand,” Suzette explained.

Suzette’s pain did not end with the release of her autobiography. The trauma her father inflicted upon her was too deeply embedded in her to easily forget. Yet, determined to move forward and live her best life, she found the courage to reinvent herself and explored various possibilities, including starting her own clothing line Le Galeriste Suzette Shanle. The designs appearing on the sold pieces are expressions of Suzette’s horrific past and a testament to her boldness, strength, and passion for living life to the fullest.

While her clothing line mainly caters to women, Suzette intends to come up with designs for men very soon. Le Galeriste offers dresses, tops, bottoms, scarves, face masks, accessories, and even artwork. The venture has become a liberating experience for Suzette, allowing her to promote advocacy while expressing her creativity.

Apart from being a thriving entrepreneur and designer, Suzette is also a gifted writer. She has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 40 years and started her career as a hair and makeup artist at Tampa Bay magazine. At some point, she co-hosted a series called Auto Trader, filmed in her hometown in Clearwater, Florida.

Her passion for writing became more pronounced after she released her autobiography. Apparently, she had a gift with words, and a former Vice President even praised her compelling writing ability. Suzette’s Daddy Issues is being considered for a small screen project by top networks.

Suzette Shanle, despite her traumatic past, has managed to balance her writing with her recovery journey and running a promising salon. She blossomed into a self-made entrepreneur who is confidently pursuing bigger achievements up to this day. If anything, she has become a powerful source of inspiration for many individuals, both men and women, who are trying to find a way to overcome their traumas. At the rate she is going, there is no denying that success will continue to be part of Suzette’s unique journey.
