Calderón’s story begins at Dojo Serpiente, a well-known training center in Castelar, Buenos Aires. At just sixteen years old, he began training in Kickboxing and Muay Thai, where he quickly absorbed the fundamentals of striking, balance, and timing. Driven by passion, he transitioned from a student to a competitor, eventually making his debut in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

Over the years, Emiliano blended his fighting and teaching careers, becoming both an athlete and an instructor. His technical precision and analytical approach to combat caught the attention of fighters seeking structured, high-level guidance. In 2020, determined to expand his horizons, Calderón moved to Florida, USA, where he began training under Gregory Choplin, a multiple-time Muay Thai world champion known for his elite technical knowledge. The move exposed Calderón to new methods, gyms, and training environments — experiences that deepened his coaching philosophy and widened his international network. Despite his relocation, he maintained close professional ties with his students in Argentina, including Angel Bauza.

Angel Bauza first met Emiliano around 2015 in Argentina. From the beginning, Calderón recognized Bauza’s natural athleticism and commitment to improvement. Under Emiliano’s guidance, Bauza began competing in local amateur events, where he demonstrated remarkable composure and a strong sense of timing — qualities that would later define his professional career.

By 2016, Bauza had transitioned into professional fighting, competing in Kickboxing and Muay Thai circuits across Argentina. His results spoke for themselves: multiple wins, regional titles, and an expanding reputation as one of Argentina’s top emerging strikers.

When Calderón relocated to the U.S., their professional bond did not end. Instead, they adapted — continuing training remotely through online sessions, detailed video analysis, and strategic planning. Emiliano’s ability to provide technical corrections and fight preparation from a distance kept Bauza progressing, even as his career took him to new locations and international competitions.

Recent Results and Career Highlights

Bauza’s steady improvement under Calderón’s remote and in-person guidance culminated in major milestones on the global stage:

  • April 11, 2025: Bauza made his ONE Championship debut, defeating Zohir Remidi by first-round TKO, a defining moment that showcased both power and precision.
  • June 6, 2025: At ONE Friday Fights 111 in Bangkok, he faced Michael Baranov and was defeated by knockout at 0:17 of the second round — a humbling moment but also a critical step in his growth as a professional.
  • Earlier in 2025, he earned another notable win by defeating Kyle Leung via TKO in the Rajadamnern World Series, closing the year with a 2–2 professional Muay Thai record — a solid balance of victories and lessons from top-tier competition.

The Calderón Coaching Approach

What distinguishes Emiliano Calderón is his adaptability. He integrates hands-on fundamentals from his years in Argentina with the tactical sophistication learned from high-level training environments in Florida. His background in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and MMA allows him to refine every area of a fighter’s game — from clinch work to striking efficiency and fight IQ.

Bauza’s success reflects Calderón’s emphasis on long-term development over short-term results. Even when working remotely, Calderón remains deeply involved in fight preparation, ensuring his athletes are both technically sharp and mentally prepared for the challenges of elite-level combat.

Looking Ahead

While Bauza’s recent setback against Baranov was a tough moment, Calderón views such experiences as essential steps in a fighter’s evolution. Together, they are already analyzing footage, refining defense, and adjusting strategies for the next phase of competition.

Today, Emiliano “Warcorey” Calderón continues to strengthen his legacy as a coach capable of guiding athletes from local beginnings to global platforms. His ongoing work with Bauza is not just a story of training and technique — it’s a testament to consistency, adaptability, and the lasting impact of mentorship in the world of combat sports.
