Misty Coolidge is a woman of many talents and boundless energy, someone who seems to thrive in the chaos of a life filled with both family and personal ambition. Hailing from the small, picturesque town of New Gloucester, Maine, Misty balances her many roles—wife, mother, entrepreneur, hunger activist, and pageant competitor—with grace and determination. Her story is one of resilience, community engagement, and a deep-rooted commitment to making the world a better place, all while following her passions and dreams.
A Life Rooted in Family and Community
Misty and her husband of ten years are raising three children, Eva, Caden, and Grace, whose lives are as busy and vibrant as their parents’. In her household, there is a shared belief in supporting one another’s dreams, and it’s clear that this philosophy has shaped their family dynamic. Despite the whirlwind of activities that come with managing two successful wedding businesses, community service, and pageantry, Misty has found a way to make her many passions fit into the rhythm of family life. Together, they fill their days with work, activities, and adventures that reflect both individual pursuits and collective family experiences.
The balance Misty has struck between her professional ambitions and family life is no small feat. Her entrepreneurial ventures are impressive: she built two wedding businesses from the ground up, both of which have become pillars of the local wedding industry. She serves as a wedding officiant and ordained minister, runs a mobile bartending service called @mainemixologist, and owns a wedding venue, Coolidge Family Farm (@coolidgefamilyfarm). Through these businesses, Misty plays a pivotal role in celebrating love and joy, creating special moments for couples in Maine and beyond.
The Fight Against Hunger: A Lifelong Passion
Beyond her entrepreneurial ventures, Misty’s life is marked by her tireless commitment to combating hunger. For over 20 years, she has been dedicated to this cause, working with food pantries, soup kitchens, and hunger-relief organizations across the country. Her passion for helping those in need has led her to volunteer in 32 states and 17 countries, making a tangible difference in communities both near and far.
Locally, Misty is a regular volunteer at her area food bank, works with the local backpack program, and serves as an Ambassador for the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Maine as well as Feeding America out of Chicago. Her annual events—such as the “Running of the Brides 5K for Hunger” and the “Flowers That Feed” Art & Runway Show—highlight her innovative approach to merging her love for events and her dedication to ending hunger. These events are not only community-focused but also powerful fundraisers that generate much-needed awareness and support for hunger-relief efforts.
In 2021, Misty published a children’s book titled We All Stir the Pot to End Hunger, which promotes empathy and community action against hunger. The book’s proceeds benefit Feeding America, and Misty frequently reads it to children at local elementary schools, using the opportunity to educate young minds about food insecurity and the importance of giving back.
A Rising Star in Pageantry and Fashion
Misty’s return to modeling and her exploration of pageantry have been nothing short of triumphant. After stepping away from modeling to focus on building her career and family, she returned to the runway, re-entering a world she once loved. Pageantry, for her, is more than just the thrill of competition—it is a platform for expanding her impact, building connections, and sharing her story of community service and activism.
Her journey in the pageantry world has already brought her numerous accolades, including many state, national, and international titles. Most recently, Misty competed for the title of Mrs. Galaxy in Orlando, where she placed in the top 15 and won the People’s Choice Award. These achievements are not only a testament to her poise and charisma but also to her dedication to using the platform of pageantry for advocacy.
Fashion, too, has become a significant part of Misty’s journey. She has walked in New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for four consecutive years and has graced the runways of Gulf Coast Fashion Week and Cayman Island Fashion Week. Her story of activism and fashion has appeared in numerous magazines, often landing her on the cover. For Misty, the world of fashion offers another avenue to raise awareness for the causes she cares about while celebrating her personal achievements.
Looking Ahead: Dreams and Future Aspirations
As Misty reflects on all she has accomplished, she continues to set her sights higher. In the coming years, she hopes to expand her reach even further—perhaps making appearances on talk shows to promote her children’s book and her fight against hunger. She even dreams of meeting Drew Barrymore, a figure she admires. But her ambitions go beyond personal recognition. One of her long-term dreams is to open a community soup kitchen in her hometown, where families of all income levels can gather for meals. She envisions a place where renowned chefs would cook once a week, and meals would be available for a donation, with the option for community members to volunteer. For Misty, this project would bring her lifelong work of hunger relief full circle, providing both sustenance and a sense of unity to those in need.
Misty’s favorite quote, “Live Life to the Fullest,” is not just a motto but a way of being. It reflects her approach to everything she does—whether she’s raising her children, growing her businesses, volunteering in her community, or walking the runway. Every aspect of her life is imbued with a sense of purpose, passion, and gratitude. As she continues to pursue her many dreams, there is no doubt that Misty will keep making an indelible impact on the world around her, proving that with determination and heart, anything is possible.
For Misty Coolidge, life is not about choosing between passions—it’s about embracing them all, giving each one its due, and using her voice to inspire others along the way.
