Regarding the XYG Windows project, it is not merely a design piece but rather a perfect fusion of Rui Qiu’s understanding of traditional Chinese culture and modern design concepts. XYG Windows takes Chinese characters as its creative theme, presenting a novel and artistic visual effect through the deconstruction and re-creation of the structure of Chinese characters. XYG Windows has won the prestigious Creative Communication Award (C2A) award. This achievement reflects not only the designer Rui Qiu’s exceptional craftsmanship and unique aesthetic perspective but also her ability to reinterpret and convey traditional culture to a global audience from a modern viewpoint.

Ohio State University’s excellent background adds significant value to the Zoelly Travel Scholarship. OSU has cultivated many outstanding alumni, including former Ohio Governor John Richard Kasich Jr. His decades-long political career spanning multiple important positions reflects his contributions and influence in politics, economics, and social services.

As a research travel scholarship within OSU’s College of Architecture, the Zoelly Travel Scholarship aims to support and encourage students to deepen their understanding and insights into architecture through field studies and research. Obtaining this scholarship is challenging, meaning the recipients stand out among many applicants, demonstrating outstanding abilities and potential. Thus, the annual competition is highly competitive.

Rui Qiu‘s academic journey at Ohio State University’s College of Architecture showcased her passion and steadfast commitment to architecture. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, she participated in two month-long Study Abroad programs across various European countries. She visited dozens of nations and nearly a hundred architectural works ranging from classical to modern, gaining an in-depth understanding of diversity.  In December 2019, Rui Qiu took part in a third Study Abroad program in Peru, focusing her studies for a month on Incan culture, architecture, and Amazonian civilizations. Through these Study Abroad programs and scholarship honors, Rui Qiu gained invaluable learning and research experiences and, more importantly, demonstrated her profound understanding and love for architecture. She displayed her design talents by winning third and second-place honors in the handbook cover design competitions in 2018 and 2019.

Since the fall of 2022, Rui Qiu has been at the forefront of innovative design with her groundbreaking “3D-Printed Air Purification Skin” system. This additive shell technology enhances air filtration and was first applied to the Textile Center Building in downtown Los Angeles. Her expertise in 3D printing extends to fashion, with the upcoming launch of her jewelry brand, Topo Revíve, in April. This brand combines traditional craftsmanship with modern 3D printing to create unique and unparalleled jewelry designs.

Looking ahead, Rui Qiu is spearheading the development of Boxful-Box, a next-generation AI-driven game world designed to empower brand promotion through a unique freebies marketing model. Combining mobile video games with a marketing platform, Boxful-Box uses free commercial products to create an interactive experience that stimulates user engagement. This innovative platform offers a cost-effective marketing channel for small businesses, non-profits, and artistic creators, helping them reach potential customers and build lasting consumer relationships.

As the design director, Rui’s role involves conducting comprehensive market research and analysis to balance the needs of small business owners and users. She has crafted a complete game storyline, developed AI-based NPCs, and integrated innovative business activities within the game to subtly promote products and generate user interest. Additionally, Rui is designing over 100 UI frameworks and implementing necessary upgrades.

Rui Qiu will continue to work in the future as a UI/UX Designer / Graphic Designer. She has designed games, IPs, marketing materials, UI/UX, and more, showcasing her talents in integrating creativity and technology across disciplines for innovative marketing strategies.

Rui Qiu‘s exceptional design talents span multiple fields, including 3D printing technology, integrating traditional and modern design concepts, and creating practical designs for projects like music education, eco-friendly travel, and virtual game world marketing integrations.

Her abilities have attracted major gaming companies’ attention, recognizing her individual capabilities and her company’s potential. Discussions with gaming giants like Riot Games and Blizzard Entertainment herald a new stage of development, amplifying her influence and prospects for success in design.
