From COO to Innovator: How Anna Gannon Revolutionized Pet Waste Management with Curbicus

In a world increasingly conscious of sustainability and convenience, Anna Gannon stands out as a visionary entrepreneur who has seamlessly blended both with her latest venture, Curbicus. As the Founder and Inventor of Curbicus, Anna has introduced a groundbreaking solution for a common yet often overlooked problem—dog waste disposal. But how did she come to develop such an innovative product and what makes it so unique? Let’s delve into the story of Anna Gannon and her journey to creating Curbicus.

The Vision Behind Curbicus

Anna Gannon is an inventor and a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for both technology and sustainability. With an MBA from Columbia Business School and a background in a wide variety of industries, she has been heavily involved in the business world for over a decade.

Her journey with Curbicus began when she noticed the severe environmental impact of plastic bags that are most commonly used for dog poop scooping, alongside the inconvenience and inefficiency of all other pooper scooper tools available.

I wanted to create a solution that was not only practical but also environmentally responsible,” Anna explains. “Curbicus was born out of the need for a cleaner, more convenient way to manage pet waste.”

The Problem: Traditional Dog Waste Disposal

Dog owners are all too familiar with the routine: bending down with a plastic bag, carefully picking up the waste, and then carrying it around until a suitable disposal point is found. This method is not only inconvenient but also raises environmental concerns. Plastic bags contribute to landfill waste and can take hundreds of years to decompose, creating a significant ecological footprint.

The Solution: How Curbicus Works

Curbicus offers a simple yet revolutionary solution to these problems. At its core, the device is a vacuum designed to make dog waste disposal clean, hands-free, and environmentally sustainable. Simply put, Curbicus is a vacuum device that redefines how pet owners handle dog waste.

Here’s how it works:

1. Ergonomic Handle and Leash Clip: The device features an ergonomic handle that is comfortable to hold and a leash clip for easy attachment during walks. This design ensures that pet owners can carry it effortlessly when they walk their dogs.

2. Lightweight and stylish design: Weighing just enough to be sturdy yet portable, Curbicus does not add any significant burden to your walk, making it a practical companion. In addition, it is small in size and boasts a stylish design so it also looks good while carrying around.

3. Vacuum Mechanism: When it’s time to pick up after your pet, simply activate the vacuum mechanism and insert the compostable capsule. The device efficiently sucks the waste into the capsule, ensuring a hands-free and hygienic operation.

4. Compostable Capsules: Curbicus capsules are compostable, providing an eco-friendly disposal option. Once the capsule is filled, it can be discarded into a garbage bin.

The long term vision of the company is to have conveniently located, designated Curbicus compost bins and to use the waste as a fertilizer in green spaces. This would provide a completely circular solution to dog poop – transforming the waste into a resource.

The Curbicus Subscription Model

Curbicus operates on a subscription model that further simplifies the pet owner’s experience. Subscribers receive a monthly supply of compostable capsules, ensuring they are always equipped to handle their pet’s waste. This model offers both convenience and peace of mind, as users don’t have to worry about running out of supplies. The subscription can be tailored to the needs of the pet owner, with options  based on the number of pets owned.

Benefits of Curbicus

  • Environmental Impact: By using compostable capsules, Curbicus significantly reduces the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfills. This eco-friendly approach aligns with the growing trend towards sustainable living.

  • Convenience and Hygiene: The hands-free vacuum mechanism and ergonomic design make it easy and clean to pick up after pets. Pet owners no longer need to worry about touching waste or carrying it around.

  • Subscription Service: The regular delivery of capsules ensures that pet owners are always ready to manage their pet’s waste. This service is particularly beneficial for busy individuals who appreciate the convenience of home delivery.

  • Innovative Design: Curbicus combines modern technology with practical design, offering a solution that is both effective and easy to use. The vacuum mechanism is a unique feature that sets it apart from traditional waste disposal methods.
