In this world constructed of colors, musical notes, and dance steps, Lin Niu shines like a brilliant star. Using dance as her brush and emotions as her ink, she paints moving pictures. Her dance journey deeply imprints her pursuit of beauty and love for art. Lin Niu’s story is a vivid testament to the endless exploration of art and a commitment to never giving up on dreams and passion.
Lin Niu’s artistic journey began with a solid foundation in dance, honed at the Shanghai Theatre Academy Dance College where she also earned a technical secondary school degree. Her exploration did not stop there; she furthered her education at the same institution in 2007, earning a Bachelor degree and a deeper understanding of the profound charm and cultural value of dance art. Moreover, in 2013, she completed professional training in arts management at the Lincoln Arts Center, obtaining a certificate in arts management. These rich educational experiences and professional training laid a solid foundation for her artistic career.
In pursuit of artistic excellence, Lin Niu went to the United States in 2016 to study film directing. Over three years, she deeply explored the entire process of film production, from scripting to directing techniques and post-production, greatly deepening her understanding of art. From 2020 to 2021, she studied arts business management at UCLA Extension, further integrating art and business, showcasing multidimensional growth in the art domain.
Entering 2022, two dance short films choreographed by Lin Niu, “Nirvana” and “The Dancing Class,” won honors at the Los Angeles Film Awards and the European Music Awards, respectively. “Nirvana” was awarded Best Music Dance Short Film, while “The Dancing Class” won Best Dance Choreography. These awards not only prove Lin Niu’s innovative ability to deeply integrate dance art with film but also highlight her professional status and international influence in the field of dance choreography.
Lin Niu’s multifaceted talent in the art world is not only reflected in her creations and performances but also in her experiences as a judge for dance competitions and festivals, demonstrating her far-reaching influence and authoritative status in the art community. Serving as a judge for the Portland Dance Film Fest, “Melody of Youth,” the KAR Dance Competition, and That’s Entertainment in the United States, she has proven her authoritative status in the dance community and her profound contributions to art critique.
At the first overseas press conference of “Melody of Youth” held in San Gabriel in 2023, the artist lineup included young artists such as Yin Hetian and Liu Yu, and young pianist Samantha Liu, among other rising stars in the art world. Lin Niu was honorably invited to serve as a judge, which is not only a recognition of her artistic achievements but also highlights the high standards of “Melody of Youth” in judge selection. The program also successfully invited well-known artists like Angela Chang as mentors, confirming that being a judge for the program symbolizes a top artistic status and professional influence.

In 2024, Lin Niu participated as a judge in the prestigious KAR Dance Competition and That’s Entertainment in the United States, both of which hold significant positions in the dance community and attract top dance talents nationwide, serving as key indicators of professionalism and innovation. This experience not only highlights Lin Niu’s authority in the dance field but also showcases her professional attitude towards art critique. As a judge, her extensive knowledge of dance and precise ability to evaluate performance innovation and techniques have provided valuable feedback to contestants, promoting progress and innovation in dance art.

In the arts and culture sector, a professional perspective shapes aesthetics and leads cultural exchange. Lin Niu, with her extensive experience in dance, film, and cultural promotion, joined the jury of the 35th Miss Asian Global beauty pageant alongside industry leaders like Emmy Award-winner Gregori J. Martin and Emmy Award judge Victor Migalchan, reflecting the high standards and professionalism of the judging process. Their participation not only elevated the quality of the event but also promoted the display of Asian women’s charm and deepened cultural exchange.
Additionally, Lin Niu was invited to serve as a judge for the Taoli World Dance Competition, a high-level Chinese dance competition in the United States, initiated by Pan Zhitao, a senior professor at the Beijing Dance Academy, since 1985. This invitation signifies recognition of Lin Niu’s artistic achievements and promotes Sino-American cultural exchange.
Recently, Lin Niu was invited as an artistic advisor for the 2024 American Chinese New Year and Charity Gala, organized by the Southern California Chinese American Economic, Trade and Cultural Association and the Irvine Dragons Soccer Club, aiming to celebrate the New Year and showcase Chinese cultural charm through a variety of programs and charitable activities, emphasizing community unity. With her professional knowledge and artistic pursuit in the field of dance, Lin Niu provided professional guidance for the gala, ensuring the program not only showcased Chinese culture but also catered to contemporary aesthetics, highlighting her authoritative status in the dance art field.
On the future path, Lin Niu will continue to promote the integration and development of art and culture with her unique artistic perspective and deep cultural understanding. Each step she takes deepens her exploration of art and extends her pursuit of beauty.
