New York, NY – December 4, 2024—On Tuesday, December 3, Children’s Oncology Support Fund (COSF) Founder Thomas Pierce and Board Member and Media Executive Monica Elias hosted a Giving Tuesday Holiday Dinner for its Benefactors to kick off the holidays. It was an Aspen-inspired, intimate evening of conversation, celebration, dance, and culinary excellence dedicated to supporting the fight against pediatric cancer. The dinner was held at the exclusive members club Coco’s at Colette on 5th Avenue in New York City. 

To kick off the Holidays, COSF benefactors were offered a curated dinner, and guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, serving as a prequel to the culinary experience that embodied generosity and community, curated by the team at Coco’s, headed by Executive Chef Philippe Oricco, and curated entertainment.

Following the cocktail hour, the guests were seated for dinner at a beautiful table adorned with silver and white frosted candles, floral arrangements, and fur pelts draped over the chairs, evoking an ethereal Aspen scene. As a special surprise, the guests were treated to an intimate performance from the ballerinas of Youth America Grand Prix, who performed three musical selections, including “Ave Maria” and “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy.” 

Before the dinner service, Elias and Pierce took the floor to thank their guests and speak about COSF’s mission.

Elias spoke about her father’s battle with cancer and the final days she spent with him as the driving force behind her inspiration to join COSF. “When he was suffering, I was by his side at Sloan Kettering. I vividly remember watching the commercials for St. Jude’s, which deeply moved him, as he was a physician.  He would often say, ‘I’m 81 years old. I have lived a full and beautiful life, but these children… I wish there were some way I could help them or that you could help them.’ She continued by thanking her guests and explaining, ‘When I met Thomas a year ago, the organization’s mission really resonated with me. My father’s words about giving back and helping others still echo in my ear, especially when I think of those children. As the founder of a global multimedia company with a career spanning over two decades in video production and television, I deeply believe in the importance of sharing stories and shining a light on the vital work of COSF. I am committed to using my resources to inform and engage the media and key donors, Helping ensure that COSF’s impact is recognized and supported. That’s why I’m here tonight and why we’re hosting this dinner—to raise awareness for COSF and bring everyone together for this important cause.'”

Pierce spoke about his journey to founding COSF, which was sparked by the loss of his late friend, Pamela Johnson, who bravely fought her battle with cancer. “I started this foundation just three years ago, and since its inception, We’ve raised funds to support wellness programs. I started my marketing agency, PMA, in 2015, and when COVID emerged, I was evolving in entertainment as a filmmaker and thought, ‘What do I do with this Rolodex that I built in New York over the last 13 years?’ It was then that I uncovered white space that these hospitals all have the same pain points and that these children didn’t have access to very simple activities we call programs that allow them to have access to what resembles a normal childhood while in treatment.  It’s not just the diagnosed child that suffers; it’s their siblings, their friends, their parents, their community. We think about the whole family unit.” He said that COSF focuses on creating spaces for children and families to enjoy art, music, therapy, sports, theater, peer-to-peer programs, and even field trips. They aim to provide children with real exposure and make happy memories outside the hospital walls so they can continue to develop as children in these very critical years. 

It was then time for Executive Chef Philippe Oricco to announce the dinner service. This decadent four-course tasting menu featured Venison Terrine, Bouillabaisse, Canard a L’Orange, and a magical dessert course, Ornaments of Wonder, a stunning red chocolate ornament filled with delicate hand-made mini chocolates. The menu was paired with fine wines, expertly curated by Sommelier Thomas Beauchamp. 

In the third course, board member and author Keni Silva shared her passion for the foundation’s work and a personal story about her daughter’s cancer scare and how it rocked her family. COSF Vice Chair Michael Orcutt then took to the stage alongside jeweler and board member Julian Polak. Polak founded the luxury natural diamond brand Maison Spoiled and created a special bracelet for COSF, with all proceeds going to the foundation’s core mission to provide research for less toxic treatments and access to wellness programs and artistic activities. Julian stated, “I joined the COSF team two years ago because our visions aligned with their philanthropic work. This year, we partnered on a silver beaded bracelet tied with a turquoise string featuring aquamarine to go with the snowball theme for Aspen.” 

Pierce then went on to speak about the mission of Giving Tuesday and the annual Aspen Snow Ball coming up in February 2025. “Four years ago, we had our first cocktail event with the Aspen community, with the help of Founding Board Members Scott and Carly Weber. Forty guests attended, and we raised significant funds to support our foundation. We keep overhead low to maximize impact. The first few years were tough and still are; this work isn’t easy, but we have dedicated board and committee members whose support is unwavering. Each year for Snow Ball, we partner with businesses and work with celebrity entertainers and  artists, blending fashion, entertainment, art, and philanthropy.” He went on to announce that this year’s third annual Aspen Snow Ball would be hosted by Jay Leno, honoring Christie Brinkley and the late Rollie Jordan. The three-day event is filled with special performances by Carlita, Luke K. Chloe Jane, Robin Thicke, and Zara Larsson.

At the core of Quancheye Entertainment lies the commitment to transcending boundaries, sparking creativity, and touching the souls of listeners through the power of art. Founded by Equan, a hip-hop artist driven by positivity, this production company embraces unbridled diversity and imagination, striving to amplify the voices of up-and-coming artists who enrich the landscape with uplifting messages. 

Quancheye Ent. is the culmination of Equan’s life experiences, abundant in passion, inspiration, and obstacles. Now a dedicated artist, producer, and part-time car dealer, his journey in the creative field began at the age of 17 when he was working for a computer retailer in New York City as a BMI writer. Though fulfilling, this dynamic forced Equan to learn how to find balance as he navigates the dynamic of pursuing music while having a full-time job. 

The lack of support from his family fueled his concerns, often resulting in moments of doubt. As someone with an IT education, Equan has always been expected to choose the traditional lucrative path, following in the footsteps of his mother, who used to work on Wall Street. Constantly pushed toward different directions, Equan showcased tremendous resilience, remaining dedicated to music despite the challenges.

After years of persevering, Equan at last garnered the support he had always hoped for, receiving motivational messages and words of gratitude from fans and other artists. “Now I know that the lack of support helped me develop a thick skin and equipped me with skills that helped me survive,” he shares. “However, support is what gets you to the top of the industry. That’s what Quancheye is all about—supporting aspiring artists so they have an easier ride than I did.”

Prompted by the rising violence and gangster conflicts in the area, Equan moved to Southern Florida. Now, he ascribes that era to the time he learned independence; far away from home and working to make ends meet through music, he discovered the concept of production. From the first moments of being in the studio, he knew he had found yet another passion, describing the experience as therapeutic.

Today, as the visionary behind Quancheye Entertainment, he fulfills a mission of helping artists who started like he did. Whether through supporting the process with his expertise and equipment or teaching others how to leverage production tools, Equan remains committed to spreading the message of love, positivity, and unity. 

Under the company’s umbrella, Equan has released a collective album. During production, he would reach out to other artists, offering them a chance to become a part of a creative, revolutionary movement. Shattering all boundaries of art, Equan eradicated the need for extensive financial capabilities, often paying for the production of artists who couldn’t have funded it themselves.

Other Quancheye Entertainment projects include an already available line of clothes, accessible through the website, as well as the up-and-coming music magazine revolving around Equan, his message, and the artists he has worked with, such as King Klish, Mr. Kayoss, B-line, Fortress, and Kid Fyago.

Speaking of his approach to producing, he says, “I’m a writer first and producer second. I always write, listen to it, and perfect the songs as I go. Producing is the same; you work on the first draft, tweak it, and wait til the message resonates. At Quancheye Entertainment, we believe that stories have the power to bridge human divides, and it is our mission to tell the stories of those who share our vision of a better world.”

“The IVY” is not just a decor workshop. It is a story about two people, Yulia and Iaroslav, who decided to bring their shared vision to life by creating something unique that reflects their values, artistic passion, and love for craftsmanship. Together, we set out to establish a brand that would stand for individuality, creativity, and a commitment to quality.

Our story began in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, where we were both born and raised. Kyiv is a city rich with history and culture, where modernity meets deep-rooted traditions. This blend of the old and the new has been a source of endless inspiration for our work. The city’s vibrant art scene and its architectural beauty played a significant role in shaping our creative outlook. However, life had other plans for us, and fate eventually led us to Belgium—a country known for its stunning architecture, rich cultural heritage, and breathtaking natural beauty. Belgium quickly became our new home, and it was here that “The IVY” was born.

Why “The IVY”?

The name “The IVY” is more than just a symbol of nature; it holds personal meaning. It is actually an acronym formed from our family members’ initials. Each letter represents an essential part of who we are, symbolizing the unity, creativity, and love that drives our work. Through this name, we honor our family while reflecting the values of resilience, growth, and connection that we aim to bring into every piece we create. “The IVY” reminds us that our craft is deeply personal, just like the items we design for our clients.

Our workshop in Belgium became a place to express our creativity fully. Surrounded by the rich artistic traditions of Ukraine and Belgium, we found inspiration in the beauty of nature, architecture, and the fusion of old-world charm with modern minimalism. This influence is evident in our signature pieces—the mirrored cubes.

Our mirrored cubes have become the centerpiece of “The IVY.” Each cube is meticulously handcrafted, combining sleek modern design with high-quality materials and attention to detail. Mirrored surfaces reflect light and expand the visual space, creating an elegant and harmonious ambiance in any setting. These cubes are more than just decorative items—they are expressions of style, grace, and individuality. We aim for each cube to tell a story, symbolizing the owner’s personal taste and aesthetic vision.

Creating these mirrored cubes involves a multi-step process that begins with selecting materials. We choose the finest mirrors and complement them with carefully crafted edges and finishes. Each cube can be customized to suit the client’s preferences, with options for personalized engravings, motivational slogans, or special dates with meaning. We also embellish our designs with stones representing energy, strength, and harmony, making each piece unique.

From Hobby to Lifework

What started as a hobby for Iaroslav and me has now evolved into our work. From an early age, I was passionate about interior decor, drawn to creating beauty in everyday spaces. Iaroslav, on the other hand, has always had a gift for craftsmanship, building things with his hands and experimenting with materials. When we combined our passions, “The IVY” was born. Our workshop reflects our journey together as partners in life and art.

Our creations result from exploration, experimentation, and a profound love for design. We take great pride in each product being handmade, with no two pieces exactly alike. This dedication to craftsmanship sets us apart from mass-produced items. Recently, STK Steakhouse hosted an exceptional evening featuring DJ Colleen Shannon, famously known as the World’s Sexiest DJ, alongside NYC influencers and fashion models. The event marked the celebration of her new magazine cover with Millennium Magazine, a prominent entertainment and fashion publication. STK Chef prepared incredible starters for the table, signature cocktails were served and a lavish smorgasbord of steaks, seafood and sides. 

Later that night, DJ Shannon took the stage as the Spotlight DJ at Nebula Night Club, where the evening came alive with cocktails,  music,  dancing and laughter. Guests were treated to a vibrant atmosphere with VIP treatment with Champagne to start and then Bottle Service.

The Calamari and tuna tartare were the table’s favorite starters that led to an evening of incredible food delivered to our table.  

Main Courses that Redefine Steakhouse Standards

The main courses at STK redefine what a steakhouse can be. The grilled steaks are expertly cooked, available in various cuts to satisfy any carnivore’s desire. Options like the 16-ounce Cowgirl Bone-In Ribeye showcase the quality STK is known for. Diners often rave about how perfectly seasoned and tender each cut is, a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to quality. Surf and Turf with Lobster, Shrimp to go with our Steaks. Other Main dishes we enjoyed were Maine Lobster Linguini, Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and Lobster Mac & Cheese.
