Background

The resident of Brooklyn was born and reared in Yerevan, Armenia, where she also picked up the piano at a young age. The Komitas State Conservatory, the most famous music school in Armenia, became interested in her because of her abilities.

She received her Ph.D. in performing arts while there studying music. She served as a pianist and continued the legacy of her classical education by working as a qualified piano instructor at a Yerevan music school. She spent two decades teaching aspiring pianists of all ages and abilities; many went on to become just like her and pursue studies in prestigious conservatories worldwide.

“Since I was four years old, I have been doing it. My mother was my first instructor because musicians raised me, and I’ve been playing ever since. My family believed in me, so they sent me to a specialized music school.” Marina narrates.

Although Abrahamyan enjoyed her job and students, she felt it was time for a more significant challenge. So she followed her dream and immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn. After years of teaching private lessons and working for other schools, she decided to open her piano school for the first time. Her dream was to create a school that deviated from the norms in that the environment is more friendly, upbeat, and open to all kinds of people.
