How Travel Made Adam Vaughan a Champion for Human Rights

People travel for many different reasons and they gain many benefits from it. For travel enthusiast, Air Force veteran, and current employee executive Adam Vaughan, travel has resulted in something profound— a love and appreciation for human rights. Now, through his digital influence, he looks to champion equality for all.

The world is a far bigger space than most people experience, and for most of our lives, we live within the constructs and constraints of our limited experience. But when Adam Vaughan started seeing the world for what it is— a massive collection of human beings from different backgrounds, contexts, and environments— he started to build an appreciation and acceptance for people who live a different way. “Throughout all my deployments to the worst areas in the world, I grew an appreciation for those who had far less, those that were affected, and those that had nothing as we had,” shares Vaughan. “diversity and inclusion are something I have been involved in within my role at Meta, and I strive to educate people on how we need to do better in the corporate environment with regards to this.”

Growing up in the unassuming suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska, most of Adam Vaughan’s experiences with the world were limited to trips to nearby places like Iowa and Missouri with family. Beyond that, he only really saw the world through an electric box, watching movies of places like England, Thailand, Germany, and Japan on television. But all that changed when he entered the Air Force in 1998. He would start traveling to all places through various deployments, reaching countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Ireland, and Germany.

After retiring from the Air Fforce in 2018, Adam would join Meta— the company previously known as Facebook— as a Global Operations Manager. There, he would only expand his love for travel and world cultures as he started working extensively with people who came from different races, backgrounds, and worldviews. “My experiences and seeing all facets of human emotions and cultures helped open my eyes to great things,” shares Vaughan. “Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc have allowed me to develop a sense of truly being a “citizen of the world” and not just a tourist. I can give first-hand accounts of destinations from around the globe and give some of my feelings as to why people should visit. I want to flip the script and try to focus on the curation of experiences.”

Today, Adam uses his digital platforms to share his love for travel and culture. On Instagram, he now has over 66,000 followers who learn more about the world through his content. Adam has also started travel blogging to give people two levels of value. On one level are all the tips and hacks to make the most out of visits to various destinations worldwide. And on another level, he hopes to create a deeper love for diversity and inclusion within his community of followers.

Adam is also married to a photographer, Rosana, who shares in his love for exposing the beauties of the corners of the world. He hopes to simply share his experience with people and give others the avenue to dream about seeing the rest of the world as well.

Suzy Sogyan is a Woman on a Mission. She’s Creating Success with a Brand that Speaks to the People.

Suzy Sogoyan followed her father’s footsteps, but she has since stepped boldly onto her own path. At the young age of 16, Suzy got involved in her father’s jewelry business. She’s taking it on now with a passion for people.

Suzy Sogoyan, a business owner of IceLink, has taken jewelry to the next level. The jewelry is stunning. It ranges from dainty gold bands studded with diamonds amidst unique designs to big and beautiful with bold gemstones. The watches the father-daughter duo design also speak for themselves: from multiple faces on individual pieces to faces with gears and maps set in the background. These are pieces both high-end celebrities and everyday people wear. Alongside her father, she designs jewelry with a purpose and meaning.

Suzy Sogoyan is in this business for connection. She loves people: “My intention for IceLink isn’t just for my love and passion for jewelry and watches, it’s for creating with purpose and using my skill and craft to connect with others.” Suzy said. Her Instagram may just say it all. Her followers trust her. Some of which she calls “the Suzy squad”. These are women Suzy says are “young, fabulous, and chic–these are hard-working ladies who know their self-worth…always striving to become better versions of themselves.”

Suzy Sogoyan grew up watching her father, Andy Sogoyan. He had an entrepreneurial spirit she was moved by. They both got interested in creating jewelry at the young age of 16. While their passion was the same, their experiences with success have been different. “As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I was often underestimated and went through challenging obstacles to prove myself.” Suzy said. With her father’s wishes, she decided to be fearless and even designed a bracelet that stands for fearlessness: a leather bracelet with a lioness. It empowers the wearer and reminds them to stay strong.

Suzy Sogyan’s strength is the foundation of her business. IceLink’s solid brand is evidence of it. “Success is good and consistent branding. A brand book is KEY.” Suzy said. She takes the time to define beliefs and values and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the business. She strives to create a brand story, set a tone, design a (company) look, and more. Any potential customer can see and feel what the company is all about upon entering their store or visiting their website: creating connection.

Both Suzy and Andy take the time to humanize their business. They take the time to donate to charity, and they do business in a real way. They’re transparent and communicative. Throughout the purchase process, Suzy and Andy stay in touch with the customer via email and text. They send them photos and keep them updated. At IceLink, they believe trust is a two-way street which is why they take recommendations and feedback. IceLink is a family business, and anyone who wears IceLink is also family in their book. Suzy says so by her personal and authentic business model.

Connor Miller Steps Outside of Innovation to Focus on Customer Satisfaction

Putting too much focus on innovation and technology, many transportation companies have moved away from a focus on supporting their customers. When Connor Miller co-founded ArdentX, he saw the outdated practices of his competitors and knew he could do better. Instead of focusing on technology that does not work in a market like his, he has chosen to focus on giving customers the best service they possibly can.

The tremendous adversity Connor has faced in life has made him who he is today. At age 17, he was a heroin addict and was arrested five times, spending a total of 22 months behind bars. He got clean in 2015 and met his wife, Grace. “Today I have a beautiful family including my wife Grace and my son Brodie. Huge thanks to my wife who has supported me through everything and been my rock even at my lowest moments. She believed in me when I was nothing,” says Connor Miller.

Going to work in the transportation and warehousing industry, together, Connor and his father co-founded ArdentX, a freight brokerage, and trucking company, which turned it into one of the highest growth companies in Jacksonville. Connor saw the outdated business practices of their competitors and knew he could do better. While they focused only on innovation and tech, he turned his focus to giving clients the best service they possibly can. And it has paid off.

It took Connor 4 years of working 80-100 hours a week to get ArdentX where it is today. He will tell you that there’s no such thing as an overnight success, but that everything takes hard work and dedication. Connor spent his twenties building a company. He’s created a company culture of respect, hiring people based on who they are, not just how good they look on paper. Connor also refuses to do business with carriers who look out for their own self-interests.

Jo Rhomeo; a man with a euphonious sound

A voice both heavy and hoarse, crispy and low, energetic and smooth, combinations that allow us to sway to his music.

Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle. Life is essentially a cheat, and its conditions are those of defeat; the redeeming things are not happiness and pleasure but the deeper satisfactions that come out of one’s struggle.

Everyone has faced difficulties in achieving their goals, obstacles that have no time frame however, once overcome the world is seen through a newer light. Once a wise man said, “an inspiring story remains an inspiring story” and here we have one; Leonilson De Jesus Antonio, professionally known as Jo Rhomeo. Raised in the UK, Jo Rhomeo was born in Angola, a country that has given us top artists such as Bonga and Paulo Flores.

His journey has been a big inspiration, especially to the people of his motherland, he has worked tremendously hard to get to where he is. This isn’t the end however, Mr. Rhomeo believes more obstacles are yet to be faced and has bigger dreams to achieve. And he is currently working hard to be a that successful person, to finally reach a position he can turn back and smile to, to one day smile at the setbacks that will one day be a mere memory.

As a child, a young Mr Rhomeo did everything possible to keep his dream alive, singing was most definitely his number one passion. His favorite childhood memory is singing in front of his whole school, his first audience, getting a feel of what was yet to come.

“Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they are making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that’s the difference” a statement by Lou Holtz is one Mr. Rhomeo resonates with, from where he is currently standing all his failures were seen as tests, tests he wished to pass. His final score? Finally passing!

From where he started to where he is now Mr. Rhomeo is the face of success, for his fans, his family, and friends. An individual who faced many challenges to make it to where he is today, a man who will never forget his background. He believes that he carries his strength on his shoulders but admits his weakness is opening up to everyone.

“I have always been a very affectionate person and I give myself easily to people, trusting them and opening up to them and I have realized it’s almost made me a prisoner. And the Majority of the time this is through my experiences in past relationships” says Mr. Rhomeo.

His inspirations range from Michael Jackson to The Weekend but his biggest inspiration in starting his career is his mother and grandmother, two women who believed in his talents and made sure he knew that too.

In his spare time Mr. Rhomeo finds himself writing and making music, he enjoys challenging himself with new concepts and finding his vibe. Besides music he loves a good game of football, the singer is a big supporter of Real Madrid.

He wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for his fans, he knows the grounds he walks on and the people he meets are because of the love and support his fans have given him. Almost paving the way for him and allowing his dreams to become a reality. He wants to thank every single one of them for believing in him, he will forever be in debt to their love and support.

Jo Rhomeo aims to show the world his art, he aims to achieve higher and have his voice heard but most importantly spread his positive messages through his music, all found on his YouTube channel “joRhomeo “.

His achievements are often attributed to his carefree outlook on life and his desire to follow his passion. He wants his audience to enjoy his songs and his fans to relate to his lyrics and, most importantly, put a smile on your face and have you follow your heart, dreams, and passion.

Mr. Rhomeo has been working tirelessly on his second album “Prisoner of Affection” which he hopes to release this year after working on it for the past two years. The album will contain a total of 13 songs ranging from Pop and RnB – Mr. Rhomeo has one message that he wants to share with his fans through this new album and that is to face the reality in which we try to escape, to come to terms with the truth.

Keep a positive and creative mindset and one day you are going to see a world you always dreamt of. Keep your vibes up!

Stocks Futures on Monday Showed Little Improvement

Investors have been waiting for crucial inflation data that will come out this week. The stock market is not doing well either, with Monday evening showing no improvements after a quiet day of trading in which investors mostly awaited the latest developments on economic growth around the world before making any decisions about investing their money or not.

Future prices for stocks tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.1% along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures, each taking a small dip in value during yesterday’s trading session.

The three stock market indexes managed to finish a little higher yesterday. Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day with 16 points, which equaled less than 0.1% and jumped 300+ points earlier that morning. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced too but at just under 1%. Meanwhile S&P 500 added another low of 0.3%.

The 10-year Treasury yield hit an all time high that morning, climbing to 3%.

investors are still contemplating the recent bounce in stocks, wondering if it is a bear market rally or if they have finally hit rock bottom from this year’s sell-off. There were no U.S economic data releases on Monday while the Federal Reserve had no earnings reports for major companies during the blackout period so investors will continue to assess how things go with financial markets over the coming days before making any decisions about their investments.

The President of Yardeni Research, a sell-side consultancy that provides global investment and business strategy services spoke on CNBC’s Closing Bell: Overtime and said:

“Since the beginning of the year, we’re seeing an altitude sickness when you look at the valuation multiple,” he shared. “To a large extent, clearly, with the benefit of hindsight, the market was overvalued. A lot of that was in the negative cap seat, big-cap names, related companies. I think we’ve seen a tremendous correction in that area. And now the question is whether the market can accept the kind of earnings expectations that analysts are delivering and whether those expectations will be correct.”

Investors will be paying close attention to company earnings this week. For example, Cracker Barrel is scheduled release data on Tuesday and J.M Smucker Companyas well as United Natural Foods are also due reports later in the day.

Investors will be closely monitoring last month’s consumer price index reading for any signs that inflation may have peaked. The data is due out on Friday and comparing it to April numbers could give some insight as to how high prices go in the future might look like now before they start climbing again.
