We asked Adina Brunetti, an expert in positioning, founder of several brands, and creator, to share her expertise.

Adina, what is the brand positioning concept? 

Every business, even if it’s a small enterprise, needs a clear positioning strategy. This is reasonable both for the employees of the business (as they better comprehend what the brand’s mission is and how it would be best to link with the clients) and for the clients themselves (they know which brand is better than others and what benefits they will gain). 

The narrower the brand’s niche in the market is, the more comfortable it is to plan a strategy. For example, equipment for the production of juices is very highly specialized, but it has a specific target audience. Most likely, the clients of such a business value quality but do not want to overpay for equipment. Therefore, equipment suppliers choose price positioning. Unlike equipment, almost everyone drinks bottled water. In this case, it is difficult to position the brand by a consumer, and the water is positioned by use or benefit: spring water for those who play sports or for those who want to become healthier. Positioning helps to emphasize brand identity. 

So, where should we start positioning?

The first step in brand positioning is choosing the right strategy. The competitiveness of the brand and the presence of loyal consumers depend on that. We have identified the main strategies for brand positioning in the market. These strategies are suitable for both new companies and brands looking to enter a new market or take a larger share. 

How to make your brand noticeable among the competitors?

The best way would be to consider competitive positioning. This positioning strategy is based on countering the brand to a competitor from which it is planned to win back market share. A brand can be perceived as being the opposite of a competitor or superior in quality. Competitive positioning takes into account the weaknesses of the leading enterprise and builds on the unmet desires of consumers. 

Another way is to go with category positioning. When developing brand positioning in a specific category, the marketing campaign focuses on promoting the brand as a leader in a specific product category. This strategy is especially useful when creating a new market. Such positioning will be successful only if the company has either an innovative solution for the market, the product has unique properties, or there is a demand for a new approach to solving the problem. 

Is there a specific positioning strategy for the markets of Florida?

In my opinion, prestige/luxury positioning is leading here. Unlike happiness, prestige can be easily bought – there are always people willing to pay for a special attitude towards themselves and the opportunity to be a VIP. But this positioning is suitable for companies that produce truly luxury or premium goods. This is not limited to jewelry and expensive cars and can extend to food and everyday goods. Prestige can be determined not only by a specific company but also by a  whole category.

A senior attorney with 40 years of experience working for Microsoft will command a higher salary than a senior attorney with 10 years of experience working with a brand-new immigration firm. You’ll want to look specifically into your field of legal knowledge and check the salaries of people who are as well-versed as yourself.

There are also other jobs in the legal system that aren’t specifically lawyers. You may want to check these jobs:

  • Paralegal: $52,000-$97,000
  • Legal Assistant: $26,000-$81,000
  • Legal Secretary: $29,000-$65,000

Some people use these jobs as a way to “build up” to the job they really want to do, which may be working as a lawyer or attorney. On the other hand, some people use these as their primary career goals. Neither is correct or incorrect; it’s just about what you personally want to do with your career.

Applying for the job you deserve

When you get to the actual application part of the process, you need to start by looking over the qualifications that a company has listed for a specific job. Note whether the job requires a specific amount of experience, what types of education the job is looking for, and exactly what type of work the company is looking for you to do. Match that up with your resume to see whether you can do that kind of work, if you need any extra qualifications, and how well you meet their stated criteria.

Even if you do meet all the stated criteria in a specific job application, you still need to show this to the hiring manager. If you’re hoping to be paid in a manner that fits your specific experience, education, and knowledge, you should make sure the recruiter understands all of those things before they ever call you in for an interview. By showing these in a resume, you’re able to indicate whether you might be looking for a higher or lower salary without ever discussing numbers.

The Unforgettable ‘Hidden Smile’ : The Most Expensive Photograph Sold in Asia

Photography is in itself an art that calls for creativity, imagination, and passion coupled with technical skills to get that perfect angle. A photograph carries with it many memories and showcases the artistic abilities of the photographer, that has a deep meaning attached to it. From capturing stories to portraits with emotions, a photographic artist draws inferences from diverse cultures across the world to have them reflected in a picture, more than words can ever say. 

One such portrait is the  ‘Hidden Smile’ which has won hearts across the world and is being featured as the most expensive photograph sold in Asia. This magical photograph is of a 72-year-old Vietnamese tour boat captain who laughed and covered her mouth when asked for her photo. The resulting product garnered much love and fame, catching everyone’s eyes and getting sold for something as high as $150,000 USD. 

‘The Hidden Smile’ was captured by Rehahn, who is best known for portraying the perfect blend of fine art and documentary style through his travel photography skills. The old woman shown in the photograph is Madame Bui Thi Xong, whose portrait has officially entered the permanent collection of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in Hanoi. The photograph was also sent to French President Emmanuel Macron to mark the 45th anniversary of France-Vietnam diplomatic relations, thus creating history.

“To me, this photograph is representative of the real Vietnam. It blends modesty and humor, old age and happiness. It encompasses the true spirit of the woman who has now become my muse – the unforgettable Madame Xong”, quotes Réhahn.

During his photography voyage, Réhahn realized that covering one’s mouth is a common gesture in Vietnam for reasons such as modesty, politeness, discomfort or joy, people cover their mouths when they laugh or receive a compliment. This is when he started to capture a series of such photographs showing the complex beauty of the hidden smile and the diverse culture that Vietnamese people share.  

Not only this, the ‘Hidden Smile’ is the most iconic image, having graced the cover of Rehahn’s first book “Vietnam, Mosaic of Contrasts Volume I” in 2014. The book quickly became a best-seller, selling in over 29 countries. In 2015, the Asian House Museum in Havana, Cuba, chose “Hidden Smile” for its permanent collection. 

The artist behind the Hidden Smile is often cited as the photographer who “captures souls” and is known for his portraits of Vietnam, Cuba, Malaysia, and India. He is considered to be an important figure in post-war photography in Vietnam and is one of the top travel portrait photographers in the world. 

R&B Rising Star, Karléh, is a Powerful Woman with Multiple Talents

Promising R&B music artist, Karléh, is proving to the world that she is not only a thriving songwriter and singer but she is also a modern-day woman who possesses a variety of talents, making her one of the most versatile and exciting personalities in the music industry today.
