Victoria Sain, the Designer behind VASE, the Lifestyle Brand That Has Taken Florida by Storm

VASE is a family business that has attracted the attention from various media outlets like Univision, Miami New Times and Miami Herald with its innovative initiative. It was founded by two sisters and a friend who joined forces to create a unique footwear that has managed to sell 5000 pairs in one season. These initial sales numbers are important for an up-and-coming women-owned small business to gather attention from big events, and such was the case when the renown Ultra Music Fest gave them the rights to sell their dazzling shoes at their event.

From its very beginning, VASE has been a lifestyle brand that has presented their LED Light Sneakers as their main product. The brand’s objective has always been to motivate people to have self-confidence. The main store was so innovative that it operated as a showroom, gallery and pop-up store for VASE and other partnered brands. Victoria Sain, one of the co-founders, acquired the role of creative director from June of 2015, and she was the one responsible for designing and developing the LED Light Sneakers brand, as well as taking command of its aggressive and visually appealing marketing campaign and concept store. “I designed this store in a remodeled food truck that operated as showroom, gallery and pop-up store for VASE and other partnered brands”, Sain claimed.

Victoria commented, “As one of the first pop-up stores in Miami, we were hired by Uber Rider’s Lounge to sell our LED Light Sneakers at the Ultra Music Festival, which is one of the most important music festivals of the country. People from all over the world fly in to Miami to attend this festival. We were the hottest product of the festival because both the type of music and the audience made a perfect match with our Sneakers.”

While being one of the first pop-up stores in Miami, VASE was invited to sell at Faena Bazaar, Uber Rider’s Lounge at the Ultra Music Festival and other places within the city’s arts and culture scene. With this strategy, the brand managed to sell more than 5000 pairs in a period of 3 months, which is why everyone is waiting on the edge of their seats for the next product with which they will impact the market once again. We are hopeful that their initiative will include other major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Houston and Boston.

Smarty Pantz Marketing Offers Revolutionary Digital Marketing Services to Ensure Growth for Companies Nationwide

Smarty Pantz Marketing, a digital advertising company co-founded by Allen Levin, is helping companies improve how they advertise and market digitally through its revolutionary strategies.

Established four years ago, Smarty Pantz Marketing has been at the forefront of creating a niche of services that deliver value to its clients. The company determined in its infancy stages that they’d need to find a unique way to help businesses generate ROI. It was the realization of this that led Smarty Pantz to provide highly effective strategies, including creating irresistible offers, value propositions, automation to improve efficiency, effective email marketing, and social media ads for businessIes to attract prospects. This is all part of what Levin calls the “RIGHT” way to marketing.

Allen Levin gained a great deal of his expertise in digital marketing through his extensive experience working in professional sports and for Fortune 500 companies where he gained heightened exposure to many of the ins and outs of corporate marketing. The experiences and knowledge he has gained have allowed him to develop insider digital strategies that he brings to Smarty Pantz Marketing

The company was born after Allen was laid off as a result of  corporate restructuring, and was either forced to choose a path where the matrix of a corporate safe haven would exist, with the risk of possibly being let go again, or would have to choose a second path, where he was disconnected from the corporate world and forced to create his own world entirely from scratch. In the end, Allen decided to take the path less traveled in order to achieve his goals and has seen great success as a result.

One example of Allen and the Smarty Pantz Marketing team’s success is their ability to create effective ads that can reach a variety of audiences. To describe what a successful advertisement looks like in terms of Smarty Pantz standards, Allen Levin explained: “A successful advertisement touches the prospect’s emotional chord and is all about how it benefits them, not the advertiser. Companies often try to overwhelm their customers with an overload of information that confuses them or does not stimulate any emotions in their prospective clients. In the end, Smarty Pantz Marketing does not stand for poor performance, and we do not allow that to happen either.”

The most important rule that Smarty Pantz Marketing operates on is the rule of one, which advocates for a singular “Call to Action ” on the landing page. This is probably one of the most common mistakes that companies make: they provide endless amounts of data to prospective clients, with poor results.

“Whether you want people to sign-up for a call or download your free PDF pamphlet, you must tell people to do a single thing. Many people make the mistake of telling prospects to do multiple things, and nothing occurs because there is way too much stimulus, and people become confused,” Allen explained.

In the past year, Smarty Pantz Marketing enjoyed 100% revenue growth and has hired employees in a variety of different areas, giving them a great working environment where they are able to flourish. Smarty Pantz Marketing has also contributed to the creation of Smarty Pantz University for small and medium businesses, which has provided them with knowledge and resources to increase their skills in digital marketing through university-style courses developed by Smarty Pantz. In addition to certifications, these businesses apply what they learn in their businesses.

Over the next few years, Allen’s goal for Smarty Pantz Marketing  is to focus on larger scale  enterprise companies by providing annual contracts to create holistic yet strategic marketing campaigns and implement them from start to finish. Allen Levin does not only want to be contracted to handle the remnants of broken campaigns, but to work with enterprise-level companies that are serious about processes and implement proven strategies that create real automation and results for the entire year.

When asked what the future holds for Smarty Pantz Marketing its founder Adam Levin comment, “I would like to keep speaking publicly, working with leaders like Neil Patel and Grant Cardone, while extending a franchise arrangement for Smarty Pantz Marketing.”

As Digital Marketing is expanding its control within the global marketplace, we are happy that Smarty Pantz Marketing can serve as a guide for businesses of all sizes and shapes.

2022 looks to be an incredible year for Smarty Pantz Marketing and the digital world.

Imposter Syndrome Could Be Your Best Gateway to Success

Sometimes imposter syndrome is your “higher-self” calling you forward into more integrity and, therefore, more potency.

As more people start to become interested in personal growth, leadership and healing work, the concept of “imposter-syndrome” is becoming more and more popular amongst those interested in personal development, entrepreneurship and spirituality.

Especially in the personal development industry, imposter syndrome is often talked about as something that we should try to simply “get over”. Something to expect whenever we are stepping into doing or pursuing a new thing, and something that we shouldn’t pay much attention to.

We are told that imposter syndrome is a product of our ego (or mind), fearing what is not yet completely familiar…

There is some truth to that, and it is important to recognise when that is the case, to avoid allowing our perfectionism, lack of confidence or fear of failure to get in the way of us doing or pursuing whatever it is that is in our hearts.

That being said, there is also something that is missed when we brush off imposter syndrome as “just an ego tantrum.”

We miss the gold and lessons that oftentimes, this can as well offer.

There are times when there is some real validity to imposter syndrome, and being truly honest with ourselves about where we might be behaving as an “imposter” (out of alignment or integrity with what we preach, teach and/or value) will do what brushing the syndrome off as “mind noise” won’t.

As an Embodiment and Leadership Master Coach, I see this all the time. Entrepreneurs, Coaches, Authors, Speakers, Facilitators and Visionaries with missions to bring forth for humanity, and a deep desire to serve and create a positive legacy in this world. When imposter syndrome shows up for them, it oftentimes comes with a lot of confusion and self-doubt, as well as a great deal of self-criticism around not being able to “simply move past it”.

That isn’t only uncomfortable, but also completely unhelpful. This is why, my recommendation is the following: Before deciding to battle in your head with imposter syndrome, I recommend you to take a moment and audit your life and get real with yourself.

If this wasn’t just a trick of the mind, but rather an opportunity to bring yourself into deeper alignment, what would it be teaching you? It may be helpful to ask yourself these questions, to find out:

  • Where are your words, thoughts and actions NOT aligning?
  • Where are you NOT being your word, to yourself or others?
  • In what ways is your behavior not supporting the things you say you care about or wish to prioritize?

These are all simple yet powerful questions to ask yourself when imposter syndrome shows up. The winning strategy is not trying to make those insecurities disappear… But instead building unwavering confidence from proving to yourself that you can live consistently in integrity.

The winning strategy is not trying to make those insecurities disappear… But instead building unwavering confidence from proving to yourself that you can live consistently in integrity.

Sham1016 on Bringing Authenticity Into the Music Scene and the Release of Upcoming Album “Foul Play”

While there’s nothing inherently wrong with delivering music that sells, the pressure to create songs intended for commercial success has driven countless artists to place a heavier premium on trends at the expense of quality and uniqueness. In recent years, streaming platforms have been inundated with tracks that follow the same formula and that don’t speak of what the artist behind them stands for or brings to the table. Going against the grain by focusing on authenticity, the Los Angeles-based rapper Sham1016 is among those who are currently standing out in the saturated music scene.

Known for his distinctive discography, Sham1016 is a rising musician whose story of humble beginnings resonates with millions of people from across the world. Part of his stage name, 1016, serves as a toast to the street he called home and a reminder not to forget where he came from.

From the beginning, this promising talent has always had an affinity for beats and rhythms, his deep-seated interest in the craft the impetus behind his efforts toward carving a path toward the forefront of the music industry. Early on, Sham1016 also discovered a love for writing, a passion that would lead to a career in writing, producing, and arranging records.

Although Sham1016 is heavily influenced by household names like Ty Dolla $ign, Missy Elliot, Nip, Juvenile, Phonte, T-Pain, Nas, Jay-Z, Pharrell, and Suga Free, what primarily inspires the rapper-songwriter is life and the pains that come hand in hand with it. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise when his songs hit close to home.

In the time since he dipped his toes in the competitive waters of the music industry, Sham1016 has managed to reach great heights and capture the attention of hip-hop lovers for his lyricism and storytelling. Set to rise through the ranks in the years to come, the Inglewood-born rapper doesn’t blanket the harsh realities of life with flowery words and pretentious phrases. Along with his memorable flows, this no-filter approach to music helps distinguish the multifaceted artist from the rest of his equally talented peers.

His take on music-making is particularly evident in the single “Hurt Yourself” and its monochromatic accompanying video, as well as in the highly anticipated album Foul Play. Scheduled for release on April 8, Foul Play will explore the cycle of hurt. “Being in the position where I was responsible for hurting these different women’s feelings to being the one who gets hurt inspired the project,” shared Sham1016. “It’s about all the slimy s–t that I’ve done, been done to me, s–t the homies did, all that.”

The rawness and realness of Foul Play are bound to cement the LA star’s standing in the music scene even more solidly and push him toward the limelight. Along with his future releases, it is bound to connect Sham1016 with more listeners, especially those who appreciate quality and authenticity in the tracks they’re listening to.

Young Latino Lawyer Omar Ochoa Takes Down Global Auto Parts Industry Conspiracy

If you purchased a new car a decade ago, you may have felt like you paid more than you should have. You may not have been imagining things. In 2013, officials uncovered a massive global price-fixing conspiracy among major auto parts manufacturers. This conspiracy to rig higher prices for auto parts affected car pricing for nearly every major auto manufacturer. For years, auto parts manufacturers held clandestine meetings to rig bids and drive up the cost of everything from seat belts to radiators to spark plugs, with the exorbitant costs passed down to the buyer.

Award-winning lawyer Omar Ochoa was right on the front lines of the battle to take down the parts makers who were involved in the collusion. Ochoa currently heads up his own law office, Omar Ochoa Law Firm, but while at a past firm, he was integral to stopping the auto parts conspiracy in its tracks and garnering the largest recovery for indirect purchasers in US history.

A Global Collusion

Trouble began brewing within the auto parts industry over a decade ago, when a competition agency in Japan, a group tasked with regulating competition in certain countries, uncovered possible price-fixing among a handful of Japanese auto parts manufacturers. Much like peeling an onion, once they started digging, the problem only intensified.

“It was a handful of people driving this,” remarks Ochoa. “Yet, the impact was global.”

Antitrust enforcement agencies worldwide became involved in uncovering the layered intricacies of the conspiracy. At the end of an exhaustive investigation, twenty companies were shown to be involved in the conspiracy, and an estimated 5 billion dollars were made selling the parts to automakers. Approximately 25 million car purchases were directly affected by price-fixing.

“The macro effect of this was stunning,” says Ochoa.

Bringing the Conspirators to Justice

Ochoa’s role in bringing about justice for the estimated 25 million car purchasers affected by this scheme was significant.

“I put a lot of time and work into it,” he explains, “But it was a team effort. Three law firms were the leads on the case. I did a lot of the legwork to put the pieces together that determined how widespread this collusion was.”

Ochoa showcases a professional humility when discussing his role in this record-breaking case. Bringing down the parts makers responsible for the conspiracy was a massive team effort, involving multiple law firms, government officials, car manufacturers, and purchasers participating in class action suits. However, one cannot overstate the tremendous effect Ochoa’s extreme effort had on the overall outcome of the case.

For all of his work on this case, Ochoa was awarded the Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer Award from the American Antitrust Institute at a ceremony in Washington, DC. The historic case has been widely documented and cemented Ochoa’s reputation as one to watch as both a young lawyer and Latino man in law.

Justice Served

The conspiracy to rig bids for auto parts affected approximately ten different automakers and managed to fly under the radar for nearly a decade before being uncovered.

“It illustrates how injustice by a few can have a global impact,” says Ochoa.

Once the conspiracy was uncovered, the companies involved began to cooperate with the investigation. This is where Ochoa’s role in the case kicked into high gear. The legwork included managing court filings, hearings, depositions, interviewing employees who admitted to the collusion and gathering information on co-conspirators and their activities.

Ultimately, the twenty companies entangled in the conspiracy agreed to plead guilty and pay over $1.6 billion in fines.

At the time of the plea deals, Eric Holder, US Attorney General, promised a thorough investigation and swift justice.

“We will continue to check under every hood and kick every tire to make sure we put an end to this illegal and destructive conduct,” Holder told Reuters in 2013.

Since opening his own firm, Ochoa has continued the tradition of fighting hard for what is right and just and winning laudable settlements for his clients. His successes have run the gamut from healthcare whistleblower cases to million-dollar settlements for business contract disputes. In addition, he has prosecuted anti-kickback and Medicare and Medicaid fraud claims against healthcare providers and medical equipment suppliers. Ochoa himself continues to be recognized as one of the best young trial lawyers in the country, much of his work fighting for the “little guy” against unscrupulous companies and organizations.

The child of parents who grew up as migrant laborers and obtained advanced degrees, Ochoa has always valued hard work. The dedication and tenacity he focused on the auto parts conspiracy case have continued with every case he’s pursued since.

“It’s about seeking excellence. It’s wanting to be at the top of my game,” explains Ochoa when discussing the driving force behind his practice, “It’s wanting to be the best lawyer that I can be, giving the best service that I can to our clients. That is my biggest motivator.”

Workplace Recognition: Why Is It Important & How To Implement It

Employee recognition, or social capital, is a high commodity in the workplace right now. As one of the main causes for The Great Resignation, employees are on the hunt for greener pastures; companies that will offer them better benefits, flexible schedules, and an inviting environment. For some employers, achieving these standards can be difficult. After all, it can be hard to let go of the status-quo. Understanding the importance of workplace recognition — but also how to implement it — will be crucial in surviving the new wave of employment. This is something CEO and founder of Preciate, Ed Stevens has become an expert on.

The Importance of Workplace Recognition

Recent studies have shown that appreciation in the workplace leads to increased productivity, stronger relationships, and loyalty to the company. Employees that feel valued are less likely to jump ship when things get rough. “When employees spend 40 hours a week with the same people day in, day out, it’s best case scenario that they all have a good relationship with each other,” says Stevens. Feeling connected to other team members only helps build the team up more. Giving someone a “gold star”, or recognizing them for their hard work, is a great way to do this.

“Especially now that a good portion of the workforce is working some type of remote schedule, feeling connected to the team is an even more difficult undertaking,” Stevens says. Since the 2020 pandemic, some new employees haven’t, and probably never will, meet their coworkers in person. That’s why making connections and letting all team members know how valued they are is so imperative. Developing personal connections is difficult when the parties are in different states, but hey, if people can fall in love over the internet, perhaps co-workers can become friends; just keep it within HR’s guidelines.

It’s also worth noting that recognition needs to come from both leadership roles and peers. It’s easy for the people who see the hard work being done every day to acknowledge each other and support one another because more often than not, the higher ups don’t see all that goes into a project and they show up at the end with a “good job” and that’s it. “[Recognition] needs to come often and from everyone,” Steven says.

Integrating New Ideas

There is a long list of ways companies can begin to establish relationships and connections with their employees. One of which is Mr. Stevens’ employee recognition platform, Preciate Recognition. The tool allows team members to customize badges and stickers to reinforce the behaviors and traits that matter most to them. Employees can encourage and celebrate each other as often as they’d like.

In addition to the new platform, Stevens suggests companies adopt a new style of meetings (whether virtual or in-person) that encourage engagement, conversation, and participation. Oftentimes, meetings are one-sided and 95 percent of the attendees never speak. By encouraging a portion of the meeting to hold no “shop talk” and instead get to know one another, bonds are formed that create a more connected team. “It’s all a domino effect,” says Stevens, “because when you have a more connected team, they’re productivity goes up. When they’re rewarded for that productivity, you have a happier team, and so on, so forth.”

For those remote teams, hosting virtual happy hours, themed parties that include icebreakers, or activities to get everyone involved is a great option. Simple changes like this can solidify a company’s dedication to the betterment of their team.

Recognition can no longer be just an Employee of the Month certificate that comes two months late. There’s potential for real connections to be made. With an intentional effort to regularly and consistently give more recognition, retention rates and more importantly, company satisfaction will increase.

7 “Not-So-Boring” Exercises Your Seniors Will Love Doing!

Young or old, exercise is important for any age bracket. It helps in proper blood circulation, keeps the organs working, and helps in the overall development.

That said, sometimes it can be hard to motivate the elderly to exercise, but with these tips, it’s not as difficult as you might think.

The Health Benefits of Exercise in Older Adults

Senior-friendly exercises fall under four broad categories: aerobics, strength training, flexibility, and balance.

Aerobic exercises improve one’s general endurance and fitness levels. Strength training builds bones and muscles in the individual. Flexibility exercises help reduce stiffness and improve mobility, and balance exercises build muscles responsible for maintaining balance. All these exercises are essential for achieving an overall fitness level, and it’s not wise to skip any of them.

However, these activities can be adjusted depending on the seniors’ personal needs and current physical state.

This article highlights the best exercises suitable for seniors. Take a look.

Yoga

Yoga is the most disciplined exercise routine that includes regular stretching, which aids in strengthening muscles simultaneously.

Yoga for Seniors who have problems with their bones or joints. While practicing yoga, work on the muscles that support the body weight and the stress caused by the weight. Yoga classes are also a fantastic opportunity to meet new people to work out with and help improve your focus. There are several yoga centers in New York City with classes for all levels of ability, with the best low-impact options available for seniors.

Walking at a Fast Pace

Brisk walking is a more intensive form of aerobic exercise that can get the heart rate going and the muscles working. In contrast to regular walking, it’s about increasing the speed at which one moves the legs and extending the stride by swinging hips a bit with each step. It involves keeping the posture in good shape, back straight, and shoulders placed backward to reap maximum benefit.

It is an ideal exercise choice if seniors suffer from weak ankles or knees. It puts less stress on the joints, as compared to jogging. However, someone needs to be around when seniors perform this activity.

Squats

Squats involve lowering the body from a standing position to a semi-sitting posture. It is a quick and efficient way to practice balance. There is no equipment required for squatting aside from the bodyweight, but it is crucial to check the technique.

Tai Chi

It is among the most effective exercises that offer tremendous benefits in terms of flexibility and balance. Tai Chi is well-known to be a mindful activity that aids your elderly in relaxing and concentrating. It is good for mental health as well.

Stationary Cycling

It is an excellent aerobic exercise for seniors that does not strain joints, so there is less risk of injuries. There are stationary bicycles in most fitness centers, including community centers. To exercise outdoors, several fitness centers also offer bikes your elderly can ride and enjoy fresh air while riding on the bike.

Swimming

Swimming can be a great exercise for seniors who love spending time in the water. It is also effective because the joints don’t come under a lot of stress as the body’s weight is supported by water.

Regular Stretching

It is crucial to stretch daily since stretching keeps muscles in a good condition. As a caregiver, make sure the seniors stretch all the muscles throughout the body. This includes the chest, back, neck, arms, calves, and thighs.

Closing Words

Exercise must be part of the daily routine of seniors to ensure they are on top of their health. Divide the workout schedule and choose exercises as per your elderly’s fitness level.

Study Finds Alternative Sweeteners in Drink Can Mitigate Weight and Diabetes Risk

Annually, Americans consume an average of 27 kilograms (50 pounds) of sugar. Almost half of this comes from drinks, the American Heart Association says.

According to a study published on Monday, drinks sweetened without sugar may help people at risk or have diabetes.

According to a meta-analysis published in JAMA Network Open, researchers found associations between low- or no-calorie sweetened beverages (shortened to “LNCSB” by nutrition professionals) and slight reductions in weight and cardiometabolic risk factors.

“Universally, everyone is recommending a reduction of sugar,” said senior study author Dr. John Sievenpiper. “Now the next question is: What’s the best way to replace it?

“Some beverages will give you that intended benefit and in a way that’s similar to what you would expect from water,” said Sievenpiper, consultant physician at St. Michael’s Hospital and associate professor in the department of nutritional sciences at the University of Toronto.

The study was “set up well” and that it adds evidence “that in the moderate term LNCSBs are a viable alternative to water for those with overweight or obesity.” Still, more evidence is needed to know the long-term impact, said Julie Grim, director of nutrition for the American Diabetes Association, via email. Grim was not involved in the study.

Sievenpiper said that the goal is still to drink water as often as possible, but the results may be good news for people looking to manage weight or diabetes risk.

“You know that you’ve got a choice, and I think that’s important for a lot of people that they have that,” he added.

The debate

While the study may provide a positive outlook for beverage choices for people with weight and diabetes concerns, there has been a long, existing debate over alternative sweeteners and overall health.

A 2019 study found that drinking two or more artificially sweetened drinks a day is tied to an increased risk of clot-based strokes, heart attacks, and early death in women over the age of 50.

Another study in 2020 revealed that diet soda might be just as bad for a person’s heart as regular soda.

Danielle Smotkin, a spokesperson for American Beverage Association, said that this is despite artificial sweeteners being deemed safe by regulatory bodies.

The American Beverage Association is a US trade association representing the nonalcoholic beverage industry.

Grim said that the 2020 study did not identify increased risk factors. It also couldn’t account for long long-term impacts and could not identify if one low- or no-calorie sweetened drink was more effective than the other.

While experts say that water is still best, CNN nutrition contributor and registered dietician Lisa Drayer said it can be hard to quit sweet drinks suddenly.

“Cut back by one serving per day until you’re down to one drink per day,” Drayer told CNN in a prior interview. “Then aim for one every other day until you can phase out soft drinks entirely.”

She recommended sparkling water, infusing fruit, and a two-week no sugar challenge to help curb cravings.

A person’s taste buds will adjust to find “natural foods with sugar more satisfying,” she said.
