How Up-And-Coming Music Star Tommy Kelly Thrives Despite the Global Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected millions of people and livelihood worldwide. A lot of industries have been negatively impacted, and the entertainment sector is no exception. Several artists have canceled their live events, concerts, and shows in the music scene alone, including up-and-coming musician Tommy Kelly who had to call off his debut national tour.
Nevertheless, the talented individual’s career continues to thrive. Known for his powerful vocals that captivate listeners, he also uses his skills as a composer to create outstanding songs and masterpieces.
What makes the seasoned musician stand out is his versatility. He does not stick to only one genre and instead finds a way to combine various techniques. He has written numerous songs that vary between slow ballads, upbeat pop-rock songs, blues, country, and folk music.

In September of 2019, he released his first-ever EP called Blood Moon, which contains seven tracks, including “I’m Not The One,” “Buried in the Dirt,” and “Temporary Star.”
The gifted singer-songwriter recorded the album at the Welcome To 1979 Studio, a premier recording studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Nathan Dantzler then mastered it at The Hit Lab.
He has even worked with esteemed and experienced producers Ashley Wolfe and Jay Tooke, the former drummer of the country music group, The Steel Woods. In addition, the album features incredibly talented session players such as Johnny Stanton, James Robertson, David Hennrikson, and Brad Neher.
Following the release of Blood Moon, Tommy Kelly was preparing for a cross-country tour to promote the album. He was arranged to perform more than 40 shows in 20 states in the summer of 2020. However, the events were unfortunately canceled following the coronavirus outbreak.
Despite going through a rough patch, the inspiring vocalist remains positive and has continued pursuing music with The Tommy Kelly Band. His band is composed of highly talented musicians Jeremy Bates on lead guitar, Tim Weer on Bass guitar, Tommy Whiteman on drums, and Matt Blocher on keys.
The group went on to perform the opening act for the shows of some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Nelly, LoCash, Three Dog Night and Little River Band.
As the music industry continues to recover from the effects of the pandemic, Tommy Kelly hopes to finish what he set out to do and perform in front of live audiences around the country. Furthermore, he hopes to dominate the music scene in the future and become a household name through his unique and inspiring music.
