Ever since BaShir Hogue was a child, music has defined his life. He started out singing in the choir at church, and today BaShir is a two-time Gospel Image Award winner, singer, songwriter and host of the television show The Culture. His latest album, Love Factor: Songs of Solomon Modern Days, has seen massive success with fans from all over the world.

This singer-songwriter’s musical journey began at the age of five in the Open Door Baptist Church choir in Philadelphia. His talent and vocal abilities grew and improved, and soon he became the worship leader at Deliverance Evangelist Church. By ten years old, BaShir Hogue was performing professionally with established Gospel recording artists such as Kim Burrel, Karen Clarke-Sheard, MAurette Brown Clark and Rev. Daryl Cole, to name a few. 

BaShir Hogue may have Gospel music roots, but he does not shy away from exploring other genres of music. He said, “I am interested in sharing a variety of musical styles. But all my music will always come with a life-changing lyrical message of praise and worship, hope and love through Jesus Christ.”

In 2002, BaShir Hogue recorded his first album, Everyday, with LGR Records. Within a week of the album’s release, it sold out on multiple digital platforms and record stores. His debut album was well-received and was even highlighted in London Music Live. Three years later, BaShir released his second album, PATIENCE, recorded live at the Bethel Deliverance International Church. In 2014, G.O. The Producers ended up producing and releasing the studio version of this album.

In 2015, BaShir Hogue expanded his career beyond music. This was the year he hosted his talk show The Culture on the Catch the Fire Network. In this show, BaShir interviews new and well-known artists, Grammy and Emmy awarded artists, entrepreneurs and CEOs. He shared, “The show highlights the achievements and successes of Black artists, musicians and entrepreneurs.” The show is still running today and is available on various online streaming services.

In 2020, BaShir Hogue revisited his musical roots with the release of his single “Love U Back.” The singer said, “This song was a huge hit with my fans and the first step for me in getting back into music.” Later that year, he released his third album, Love Factor: Songs of Solomon Modern Days. This latest album has a different vibe compared to his previous releases. His test project features a lot of mesmerizing beats and soulful rhythms that beautifully complement his warm voice.

Still working on expanding his work in the entertainment industry, BaShir Hogue proudly shared that he wrote and directed a play. “It was the first play I wrote, and it’s called The Return. Doing this play was something new and different for me, but I enjoyed it so much.” BaShir also did a few acting projects when he was cast in the screenplay First Lady Drama and IS THERE A MAN IN THE HOUSE 2012.

Looking back at his career, BaShir Hogue has no regrets about the path that he took. The artist said, “Music is my passion and my calling. Despite the variety in styles and genres, I believe music to be a universal language. I am lucky to have found my unique voice and sound. I hope to keep exploring this craft, to keep growing as an artist and to make my mark in the music and entertainment industry as a whole.”
