Livia Milano Holds Nothing Back – Behind the Curtains of Entertainment

Livia Milano is an Italian-American SAG-AFTRA actor, writer, stand-up comedian, and podcaster. She is an Alumna of Chapman University, where she majored in Film Production. Livia went on to get a bachelor’s degree in Cinema/TV/Arts and a Masters’ degree in Screenwriting/Mass Communication from California State University, Northridge. Best known for her stint on Millionaire Matchmaker, Livia remarks that she is prouder of her role in the film Dead Awake opposite Nick Stahl and Rose McGowan.
In the course of her education, Livia Milano discovered that she had a flair for stand-up comedy. She signed up for a comedy-writing class, which inadvertently turned out to be the inspiration she needed to begin performing. She made her debut performance in 2011 in the Belly Room at the Comedy Store, and she was off to the races. In 2018, Livia Milano went in search of a community where she could meet and connect with more female comedians, and she joined a group called “Pretty Funny Women.”
By January 2019, she had launched her wildly popular podcast, “The Not So Sexy, Sexy Podcast with Liv Milano”, where she gives an unbiased perspective of the realities of her daily life in Hollywood and Entertainment, as well as the pursuit of her dreams. “I am raw and real about all of the good and the bad things that have happened to me while pursuing my dreams in the arts. I do not sugarcoat difficult topics, and I try to give a first-hand account of living in Los Angeles and pursuing your dreams.”
Livia had developed a reputation for being exceptionally candid and open about her life and experiences. Her authenticity and “no-filter” approach seem to be a refreshing divergence from the practiced and curated front prevalent on social media. If the numbers are anything to go by, her rapidly growing fanbase indicates a large part of the population who welcome the idea of upfront and unscripted opinions about their community and the world. In the last two years, Livia Milano’s podcast series has steadily risen in rank to become one of the top 200 comedy podcasts on Apple Podcasts and ranks among the top 10 in the Stand-Up category.
Livia Milano has always had the mind of an entrepreneur. The self-producing artist is constantly seeking ways to unite her passion for performing with its business aspects. In the coming years, the mother of two hopes to have recorded hundreds of podcasts and still be personally involved in its production and dreams of having her own late-night show.
