Sara Ketabi, SDG 9 Honors Award Winner, Speaks at the United Nations General Assembly and Is Recognized for Founding Global Data Initiative

Sara Ketabi, UN SDG Honors Award winner and former UNICEF USA national council member, delivered an impactful address at the 74th UN General Assembly High Level Presidential Dinner Reception: Sustainable Healthcare Financing and Health Investment, Building an Ecosystem for Healthcare Service Delivery in Zimbabwe. The event, which attracted key figures such as the Hon. President of Zimbabwe, H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa, and the Minister of Health and Childcare of Zimbabwe, was a pivotal moment for advancing global healthcare collaboration.

During a side event co-hosted by the UN SDG Health Partnership and co-moderated by Ketabi and Dr. Parveen Singh, former CEO of the World Health Forum and current Director of the UN SDG Health Partnership, Hale’s Global Data Initiative was hailed as a “pioneering” and “one-of-a-kind” platform for intergovernmental knowledge exchange in Africa, according to Singh.

Delegates were presented with Hale’s data collection models and sustainable health policy strategies, after which Ketabi pitched Hale’s innovative approach to spurring health entrepreneurship and capacity-building across Africa: an initiative positioned to transform the landscape of predictive analytics in healthcare on the continent.

The high-level reception propelled discussion of public and private investment in SDG 3 and successfully garnered a turnout of over 20 international leaders. Held on Monday, September 23rd, 2019, from 6:00-9:00 pm EST, at Lotte New York Palace Hotel, Holmes Ballroom, the reception was a resounding success in furthering sustainable healthcare discussions.

Sara Ketabi will continue her advocacy, speaking at the 2025 United Nations Civil Society Conference and the United Nations Association Global Engagement Summit, where she will undoubtedly inspire global action toward achieving universal health goals.
