Helping People of Color Achieve Physical and Spiritual Wellness with Dr. Shivani Amin

Racial disparities are still prevalent to this day in the U.S. The American healthcare system, in particular, has a disproportionate impact on the people of color, such as gaps in their insurance coverage, lesser access to services, and poorer outcomes from these services and procedures. They get sick more than other races, have higher mortality rates in infants, children, and mothers, and have lower life expectancies than other races in the country.

Racism leaves an impact on minorities by contributing to the stress of experimentation and bias in doctor’s advice for their illnesses and treatment costs. This unfair treatment has led to a distrust of minorities in the current structures in force.

Professional medical doctor Dr. Shivani Amin believes that it is relevant to understand the root causes of racial disparity in healthcare. As part of a minority group in the country, she can assist the disadvantaged with her unique, and proven effective treatment methods.

Dr. Shivani Amin, or known as Dr. Shivani, has specialized in functional medicine, wherein diseases are addressed from its root causes, such as our way of living. She uses a holistic approach in treating patients that incorporates healthier medications and spiritual healing as a better way of attacking illnesses, thus ignoring the need for more aggressive treatment that can debilitate people for the rest of their lives.

Dr. Shivani is a person of color as well, having been raised in a traditional Indian family. The teachings of her ancestors inspired her in traditional medicine. Dr. Shivani is ready to impart her knowledge to her would-be patients to help them live more fully and to remove the stressors that plague them in their day to day life.

Although trained in family medicine, Dr. Shivani has discovered the potential in holistic medicine to alleviate the use of harmful chemicals that are typically used in medication. She has learned spiritual teachings from shamans, the Jewish traditions, and the Chinese. From there, she fuses natural medicine with spirituality, to create a distinct approach in assessing, preventing, and treating patients.

Having understood and sympathized with the plight of African Americans in the health care system, Dr. Shivani can help treat these root problems so they can live healthily and peacefully. It is apparent that institutional racism is pervasive and still affects African Americans, even when there are reforms made for equality. The majority do not have access that other people enjoy and take for granted. Naturally, stress has been experienced from all of this as they look for answers.

Dr. Shivani is highly knowledgeable in curing illnesses that have been affecting African Americans for so long, such as cardiovascular disease, anxiety and stress, neurological disorders, and health conditions exclusive to women. Through her recommendation of individualized holistic and natural treatments and therapies, Dr. Shivani can help other people of color achieve health and wellness in body, mind, and spirit.
