Established in 2013, Light Chaser Animation Studios is a relatively young but well-known Chinese animation studio celebrated for its high-quality 3D animated films with profound messages. Works such as “Little Door Gods” and “White Snake” have not only successfully captivated Chinese audiences but have also showcased the creativity of Chinese animation on the global stage. The films “White Snake” and “Green Snake” from the “White Snake” film series have garnered significant box office success, grossing over 1 billion RMB. This success has not only advanced domestic animation but also increased China’s competitiveness in the international animation market.
Tencent LightSpeed Studios was founded in 2008 and now occupies one of the leading positions in the game industry of the PRC. The studio specializes in the development of high-quality mobile and video games such as the globally renowned PUBG Mobile, which currently has about 50 million active users per day around the world excluding China. Not only that, the games also have a vast number of users from around the world and take a huge share in the market of mobile games because of the authentic picture quality and different types of gameplay.
Ms. Siyu Zhang has been involved in projects for both organizations, and her technical skills and innovative ideas have significantly contributed to the continuation of these projects. Specifically, she contributed to the new GPU-based cloth simulation solver project at Light Chaser Animation Studios, which was dedicated to bringing technological advances that enhanced the quality and efficiency of animation production, thereby setting a new standard in the animation industry.

Following the best practices in computational methods and algorithmic approaches, the research team deeply evolved by Siyu Zhang achieved new levels of accuracy and computational speed in replicating physical behaviors, including the natural movements and collisions of cloth. Specifically, she provided significant support for the game’s ”fog of war” technology, which not only improved strategic depth and gameplay but also maintained efficiency throughout the development process. Her ability to implement innovative solutions has been crucial in enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Siyu Zhang’s input, combined with her creativity, was the key driver behind the success of the two projects. Furthermore, her actions facilitated a deeper integration between the technical and creative teams, as well as fostered closer collaboration with producers and artists from different game project teams.
