In a design industry increasingly defined by specialization, Mehul Bhargava has cultivated a unique path defined by adaptability, interdisciplinary thinking, and a relentless focus on creating meaningful experiences. Born in India and now based in New York City, Mehul’s journey has spanned nine cities across three continents—an odyssey that has significantly influenced both his worldview and his design philosophy. His work across industrial design and UI/UX reflects a deepening understanding of how to design for an ever-changing world, where cultural and technological shifts demand fluid solutions.
A Global Foundation for Creativity
From an early age, Mehul’s life was marked by movement and adaptation. Living across diverse cultures suggested to him that good design often moves with people, adapting seamlessly to their needs, rather than forcing people to adapt to it. This belief became a core principle of his approach. After studying industrial design at the prestigious Pratt Institute, where he graduated with highest honors, Mehul entered the creative world equipped with technical expertise alongside a global perspective, shaped by years of cross-cultural observation.
During his time at Pratt, he received multiple student awards, reflecting his commitment to innovation and user-centered thinking. Outside of the studio, he captained his college tennis team, further honing his instincts for leadership, resilience, and strategic decision-making skills that would later translate into his collaborative design process.
Bridging Physical and Digital Worlds
Mehul’s professional journey illustrates his ability to work fluidly across disciplines. His early work involved physical product design, including conceptual consumer goods and retail displays that balanced aesthetics with functionality. Over time, he expanded into digital design, working on major campaigns for well-known brands in pharmaceuticals and fashion during his time at BORN Group, a Tech Mahindra company, where he learned to merge storytelling with interactivity.
This ability to navigate between tangible and digital spaces contributes significantly to Mehul’s distinctive approach in the design industry. His work often emphasizes the user experience, whether that experience happens through touch, sight, or interaction, prioritizing empathy at every stage of the creative process.
“Design isn’t about assuming outcomes,” Mehul says. “It’s about understanding movement—how people, technology, and emotions shift—and building with that in mind, while leaving room for the unexpected.”
The Philosophy of Designing in Motion
At the heart of Mehul’s career is the idea that adaptability is not just a survival skill—it is also a creative strategy. Every project, move, and pivot has helped refine his sensitivity to users’ needs, contributing to solutions that are not only beautiful but also deeply human, rooted in real-world applicability.
His dual background in industrial and UI/UX design allows him to blend form, function, and emotion, crafting experiences that feel intuitive and timeless. By embracing motion—whether across borders, industries, or technologies—Mehul continues to explore the boundaries of what design can achieve, pushing conventions without losing sight of accessibility.
A Future Focused on Growth and Possibility
Looking ahead, Mehul Bhargava remains dedicated to growth, innovation, and cross-disciplinary exploration. His aspiration is to continue designing experiences that resonate across cultures and media, fostering connections through thoughtful design, while staying true to the adaptable, dynamic spirit that has shaped his journey so far.
In a rapidly shifting world, Mehul exemplifies a designer whose work evolves with the times, bridging tradition and innovation, without ever losing sight of the people at its center.
