From devising personalized fitness regimens to implementing cutting-edge recovery techniques, Soubrier has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to optimizing performance and preventing injuries among his athletes. His passion for pushing the boundaries of sports science continues to drive him in his pursuit of excellence.
In his newly appointed consulting role with NJ/NY Gotham FC, Soubrier will leverage his expertise to shape the club’s strategic framework and oversee the implementation of a professional player pathway. This initiative aims to uphold the longstanding tradition of excellence and high standards within the women’s soccer community. With a keen focus on personal and professional development, Soubrier’s involvement signifies the club’s commitment to fostering growth and providing unparalleled opportunities for players to thrive.
Through this collaboration, NJ/NY Gotham FC seeks to not only elevate its own performance but also contribute positively to the broader landscape of women’s soccer. Soubrier’s guidance will be instrumental in refining the club’s approach, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation and continues to set the benchmark for excellence. By investing in strategic initiatives like this, NJ/NY Gotham FC demonstrates its dedication to nurturing talent and shaping the future of the sport.
“It’s been a really valuable year in focusing on my personal and professional development,” Soubrier said. “Especially from a personal standpoint, I’ve been able to give some time back to my family while also reconnecting with my love and appreciation of nature. From a professional standpoint, I’ve dedicated time to assess how things are done at different levels of the women’s game and in different settings. I have committed time back to the community to share knowledge and empower people to operate with higher standards. I can’t stress enough how special it has been to be able to focus on myself without distractions”.
These experiences have helped Soubrier expand his existing abilities as a medical and performance specialist while establishing new ones. A process that he says stems from an increased emphasis on interdisciplinary knowledge and close collaboration with leading soccer clubs and professionals.
“I feel like I’ve really been able to go back to focusing on valuing the power and knowledge of people,” Soubrier said. “That is something we tend to lose sight of when we are in the grind of work, competition and pressure of a professional sports setting. The various club visits I’ve done, the community engagement I’ve been a part of, and the continuing education I’ve gained have all helped me recognize the value of everyone around me and the power it has on giving us new perspectives.”
Now, in the wake of an eventful and fruitful 2023, Soubrier is eager to apply his versatile training approach to the future of Gotham FC – and the women’s game at large.
“I think I’ve realized how unique my pathway has been up until now,” Soubrier said. “From growing up in Côte D’Ivoire to my academy years at Toulouse Football Club, my world travels, my growth through the american college system and my years of experience in the NWSL, I’m really excited to bring a very unique perspective to the service of the women’s game – specifically in my new role. I’m looking forward to helping in the strategies for how to implement and establish a professional player pathway, which will hopefully yield some great talents in the US and worldwide.”
