Edwin’s fascinations, along with his aspiration to help solve problems faced by children all over the world, profoundly shaped the foundations for the operations of FUTLOV.
FUTLOV has a note-worthy backstory as to its beneficiary. Edwin was on a trip to Thailand when he chanced upon children in the countryside playing with a make-shift soccer ball from tied scraps of cloth. He was moved by how he saw the children as they were happily playing with the alternative toy that he decided to buy them a real ball from a nearby market. Unsurprisingly, the kids were delighted with Edwin’s present. Edwin was so inspired by this encounter that he made it advocacy for his watch business.
In 2017, FUTLOV started on its mission by tying up with El Semillero, or “The Seeder,” a famous soccer field in Quito, El Salvador. In this community, orphans and children from low-income families are given opportunities to participate in football lessons, play team sports, and enjoy their chosen game. FUTLOV has launched the Pasadena 94, a timepiece named after the 1994 FIFA World Cup held and played for the first and only time in the US. It is designed in the United States to finance its project with El Semillero.
Now, they are devoting every sale of their watches to provide football gear to underprivileged children all over the world, and so far, they are in discussions with other foundations in Brazil, Venezuela, India, Kenya. This give-back program will provide soccer balls, a pair of cleats, a jersey, shorts, and other needs to their various partner organizations. FUTLOV is on a mission to give 1 million kids soccer equipment so they can enjoy the game the way it should be. With this advocacy, they are the first soccer-inspired high-quality watch adhering to a social purpose.
