Fear is an instinctive feeling, and over thousands of years, we have become accustomed to listening to it and considering it to be our leading adviser in our survival. Fear tells us we are in danger and advises us to attack, run, or pretend to be dead to survive. We are accustomed to listening to this advice because we cannot determine with our consciousness the degree of threat, and trusting fear in matters of survival and following its advice has become automatic. And we are already experiencing difficulties not only because of fear but also because we cannot get out of our automatic reactions to fear. We are different, and for some, it is easier always to attack; it is easier to run, and for others, it is easier to freeze.

The problem with modern man is that the world has changed a long time ago, and we live in a safer world than before, and we have more rights and opportunities. And programs and automatisms have remained since ancient times in a world with wild laws.

It turns out that social relationships have evolved faster than instincts. Modern man experiences tremendous social pressure: the world demands from him speed, flexibility, development, success, and creativity. And the growth of all these qualities is hindered by fear. And it’s not enough for us to survive; we want to be fulfilled and happy. But because of this, we people feel trapped in conflict – we demand a lot from ourselves, but all this frightens us greatly. And it is tough to figure out how real this fear is, in what situations it is worth listening to it, and in what conditions it is worth overcoming.

And globally, fear is a reaction to any changes. And we want to change our lives and make it happier. And the more potent the fear in some area of our life, for example, in finance, the more opportunities there are for growth and satisfaction.

Let’s resolve this conflict together.

To solve this situation, I, as a person, need more advisors than fear: my needs, my goals, my will, my ability to act, and my intuition. What will happen if I have a meeting with all of them? It will probably be difficult for me to choose which opinion is more important; I am afraid that the meeting will become chaotic, and I will choose the argument of the one who shouts louder.

Therefore, we need to introduce rules. Fear automatically speaks loudest to us, and at the beginning of this experiment, we will feel fear the most. But we remember that we need to listen to all the advisers. You can write it down on paper or create a dialogue. So I want to create a relationship, or make a career, or become famous, or make money. Choose from these options or write your own. And let’s start the meeting.

  4. It’s essential for me to move towards my goals.
  5. I have a presentiment that I will be able in some form or at least to some extent to realize my plans
  6. Moving along my path to realizing my needs and achieving my goals is possible. And it will make me a happier person.
  7. My actions will help me become a better version of myself and improve my life.

And we do not fight with any of the advisers; we do not suppress or dissuade – they are all right. We understand that we need to consider more information to make a decision. And you are the main one here. You are the one who decides. You can listen to these advisers again and let them select new arguments.

After you have listened to all the advisors, listen to yourself. You see that there is less fear, and it has become calmer, although it is still not clear whether to act or not.

Let’s introduce one more rule – I can try, if I don’t like it, then it’s never too late to come back.

Let’s introduce internal criteria for implementation: I take such steps at such a speed that it is safe, sustainable, sound, and in a mode that is comfortable for me.

Listen to yourself again. I see that it works. Fear has reduced its influence on my life; it has become more accessible to breathe, and I feel like new roads and opportunities are opening up. What seemed impossible yesterday becomes feasible today.

Just remember that when you go into a new experience, you need to give yourself a lot of resources and support. Praise yourself for every step, and don’t criticize if you don’t like your actions. Be wise and loving towards yourself.

As you practice these principles, you will emerge from the automaticity of following or fighting fear. You will create new beneficial neural connections, which, over time, will also become automatic. These useful automatisms will help you develop relationships, succeed, build a career, make money, and realize all your goals.

And we also create an evolution for our instincts, and then they become more effective helpers in our lives. Instincts are essential, but they must stand in their place and do their job well.
