Eclipsing Adversity: Dr. Greg Kimble

A shadow crept across the face of the Wyoming plains as an individual amongst a sea of souls strained their eyes to observe the phenomenon. As the shadow grew closer, the sharp pain from the blinding light prevented him from gazing upon the shadow’s source. Time seemed to slow down, and mere moments dragged into eternity. As the shadow finally dragged across his path, a burst of light illuminated the horizon, and at long last, he gazed into the glowing orb of light suspended in the sky.

Back in 2017, many individuals across the world were able to view the Total Solar Eclipse. However, only one could glean the lesson that this celestial event had to offer.

Dr. Greg Kimble grew up in the hills of Centennial, Wyoming. He spent his days leaping from rock to rock, climbing the tall trees, and learning all he could about the world around him. In the evening, he would sit by their cabin fireplace with his father and play the guitar. Everyone knew Dr. Kimble would stand on stage and sing for the world one day. Thus, Dr. Kimble pursued this goal. From talent shows in his early years to residential shows in Las Vegas, Dr. Kimble leaped from stage to stage, much like the rocks from his childhood. As he climbed the branches of the music industry, he slowly began to feel his spark fizzle from the toxic environment that the corporations created.

To counter this environment, Dr. Kimble broke away from his stages for a role he never thought he would want. He became an educator. As an educator, he started his very own school to help keep the next generation of artists on the right path and learn how to enjoy the making of their music once again.

As his school grew and his leadership skills flourished, he felt the curiosity to learn about the world around him ignite once again. He began attending growth seminars, reading business books, and networking with individuals who had been where he was, and Dr. Kimble loved it—so much so that he began sharing his learnings with his students and staff.

Suddenly, everyone around him began saying something that would change his life: “You could be a motivational speaker.” Dr. Kimble could not fathom this. He was meant to stand on stage to sing, right? However, this thought ended when Tim Storey spoke at the 10X growth conference. As Tim spoke, Dr. Kimble turned to his wife, Cayla, and said, “Maybe I could be a motivational speaker!”

However, Dr. Kimble wanted to be different. He didn’t want to say what so many others were already saying on the stages he intended to be on. This is the point when he witnessed the Total Eclipse in Casper, Wyoming.

Dr. Kimble remembered what ninety-nine percent coverage of the Total Eclipse was like; he could not see it. It was only at one hundred percent coverage that he felt the temperature shift, the horizon ignite, and grant him the ability to gaze upon the sun. That last percent, The Final Percent, was the difference between night and day. So he asked himself, “Is that same shift possible in every aspect of life? Is The Final Percent the shift I need in my business? In my marriage?” He began applying the idea of The Final Percent everywhere he could.

The results were more than he could have ever expected. As Dr. Kimble also got his first coaching clients, he began helping them implement The Final Percent into their lives. However, Dr. Kimble then encountered the most significant problem any entrepreneur can encounter: he got too many clients. As such, he embarked on a nonstop train of call after call after call. On his never-ending stream of calls, he suddenly identified a pattern in what his clients requested to work on. Dr. Kimble works in four areas of life. Mindset, business, fitness, and relationships. Yet during his onslaught of calls, he suddenly found himself switching roles every time from what people said they needed versus what they wanted. He asked himself, “Is there a pattern to this?” Then he saw it and the infinite possibility that the correlation held.

Firstly, he found that Mindset or what he calls Personal always affects Business. Secondly, he found that Business always affects physical and mental health or what he calls Vitality. Next, he found that Vitality always affects relationships or what he calls Community.  Lastly, Community always affects Personal.

This four-stage loop was then laid out into what he calls the Infinity Model. Through this, Dr. Kimble can quickly and accurately identify what someone believes they are working on versus the issue’s root cause. When asked what the model’s benefits are, Dr. Kimble said, “We live in an age of curative medicines that only allow you to identify and react to problems. I want to provide anyone with the ability to prevent the problem altogether.”

Today, Dr. Kimble and his company, The Final Percent, travel the world, building or joining stages. From the stones of the mountains and the blinding light of the sun to the stages of the city and the shining lights above, Dr. Kimble has always sought the opportunity to dream bigger than the problems that are cast upon one’s life.

“All of the growth happens in the valleys; the top of the mountain is only good for the view.” – Dr. Greg Kimble.
