A presentation of the Atlante dell’Arte Contemporanea, the holy grail of visual arts, will be held on May 25, 2024, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (often referred to simply as the MET). Not so long ago this event was a major turning point for artist Anastasia Yanchuk. After a long journey through major international exhibitions in Italy, Monaco, Spain, Austria, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates, Anastasia was deservedly represented among the artists selected for publication in the art edition.
The Atlante is the oldest illustrated collection of masterpieces by artists from all over the world, published since 1940; the Italian periodical is dedicated to art and the art market. The presentation of the 2023-2024 edition will take place in the Bonnie J. Lecture Hall at the MET.
This location perfectly captures the spirit of the event. The MET is a museum that covers more than 18 hectares and houses nearly three million exhibits, ranging from ancient to modern masterpieces. A shortlist for illustration: Manet, Dali, Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Mauriceau, Gauguin, Signac and others.
A key feature of the new edition is the presentation of works by promising contemporary artists. Critics and fine art experts have diligently identified new talents with great potential, such as Anastasia Yanchuk, a 21st-century painter whose work deftly combines realism and pop art. Anastasia shared with us that her Atlante presentational debut took place back in 2021, then her paintings were first published in this edition.
“Atlante dell’ARTE Contemporanea has been central to my library for a decade,” She said. “This is not just a collection of illustrations; it is a treasure trove that preserves the memory of great artists and their priceless creations. It is a great honor for me to participate in the presentation as a creator! This is a heartening endorsement of the prospects, relevance, and success of my work.”
Indeed, Anastasia’s paintings stand out among the works of her contemporaries with vivid imagery, unusual materials, and striking compositions. They seem to be an extension of our reality, reaching far beyond the canvas. Customers have been just as happy admiring her work in galleries as in their homes and offices.
The artist noted that her creations are part of the real world, not only because she actively uses 3D visual techniques in her work, but also because she skillfully mirrors pressing societal problems in her subject matter.
What kind of problems are they?
Stress! Anastasia’s masterpieces are designed to reduce stress by admiring landscapes.
And societal pressures on females as well. Anastasia’s artworks motivate women who, due to the pressure of “male society” or psychological pressure in families, are afraid to live a full life.
The churning sea, the rolling landscapes, and the open glances of women seem to touch the soul of any viewer.
