By: John Glover (MBA)

So, You’ve decided to give up your stubbornness and begin your drive down the road of rehab?

That’s great news!

You’re not a regular fighter anymore—You’re John Wick, and we all know that John Wick never backs down.

But before you start your mission, you have a big decision to make: Should you go to an Inpatient or outpatient rehab center in New York?

Well, We’ve got your back so you don’t feel alone while making the big decision that will impact your future big time.

So, Let’s break down the rehab treatment options and find out which one will suit your budget and needs the best.

Inpatient Rehab Approach

Inpatient rehab is an immersive experience where you are enveloped in an environment dedicated to sobriety. Think of it as leaving for Hogwarts. There are no flying broomsticks to entertain you, but you will be there to experience something other than your routine life.

In New York, The inpatient rehab centers are cozy yet luxurious enough to keep you at peace. Once you join the program, you will be staying in the facility and be under supervision of therapists and experienced staff.

It is a common misconception that inpatient rehab programs are expensive and complicated to afford. But there are always some hidden pathways that you need to discover. There is a broad range of inpatient programs, from luxurious facilities that overview vast planes or oceans to decent yet serene hidden gems in the city.

Benefits:

Inpatient rehabs typically mean that you are supposed to stay in a facility 24/7 for anywhere between one to three months. It usually depends upon your program and condition. Now, Before we go off-road, let’s discuss the benefits that you can expect in Inpatient rehab centers.

  • In-house habitation means there are no distractions or temptations that can sway you away from the track of rehab. It’s just you, your fellow rehabbers, and the team of professionals who will help you get back to your everyday life.
  • It is a perfect option if you are suffering from severe addiction or a dual diagnosis.
  • You have no one to judge and therefore, you can tackle the hard stuff without worrying about any spectator.
  • Group therapy sessions, family therapies, and all other rehab activities aid you massively in wadding back towards sobriety.

All you need to do is think of inpatient rehab as a self-care break from the outside world.

Outpatient Rehab Approach

Unlike inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab only needs you to visit the rehab facility on scheduled days. Instead of leaving for Hogwarts, it resembles attending Xavier’s school for gifted students (of course, minus the mutant powers).

It is a perfect choice if you have a mild to moderate addiction that can be resolved with a few sessions and self-care. So, Congratulations. You don’t have to say goodbye to your precious bed to live in a ward or something.

Benefits:

  • In New York, outpatient rehab centers offer great flexibility. You can attend the sessions during the day or after leaving work, whenever it is suitable for you.
  • This type of treatment program doesn’t cut you off of reality. You can still be active in your routine, but just with a little caution.
  • Outpatient programs allow access to all counseling sessions, group therapies, family therapies, and other services.
  • You get to spend time around your loved ones and be in touch with your support network at home.

You can do it! You can still recover while still juggling with your city life.

Which Option is the Best For You?

Ok, now that you know what both treatment programs can entail. How do you choose which will be the best option for you?

The answer depends upon you. Do you want a speedy recovery with precise schedules (in-patient), or are you all right with a slow and steady pace (outpatient)? There’s your answer; you know it in your heart.

Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all, and even if there is, the results might not be up to par. Understand what you want and what fits you the best. Go for consultations and find out how deep you have sunken in the swamp of addiction.

If you are only legs deep inside, outpatient rehab can help you just fine in getting back on track. But if it’s becoming hard for you to breathe, inpatient rehab might be the best choice for you.

Location, Location, Location

Don’t underestimate the location of your treatment center. While you live in New York, there are heaps of locations that can provide complete rehab treatments. Whether you live in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, or far out on Long Island, there is an option for you throughout the state.

No matter where you are, help is not far away. You just have to wave your hand and seek help.

For outpatient rehab, it is better to find a location that is nearest to commute for you. However, for Inpatient rehab, if you are not confident of getting back to your normal life while staying in your city, we’ll suggest a remote location where you are away from your normal life. It’ll be difficult for your loved ones, yes, but it might be a better option to keep yourself stable.

Combining Both Approaches

Skip it all, If you can’t decide which option suits you the best, just go for the hybrid approach. New York City provides various options where some programs begin with Inpatient care and later transition to Outpatient care.

This approach might be the best option since it provides you with intensive care at the time of need, and when your condition stabilizes, it allows you to take it slow and balance your routine life along with rehab.

The Sum Up

Rehab programs are the most effective when they are personalized just like any other medical treatment. Your needs are different from other rehab seekers.

It is your journey, so the choice will be yours as well. Whether you choose an inpatient rehab or an outpatient approach, you are making a good decision for your life. Stay confident and optimistic. There’s help just around the corner; you only need to raise your hand and let them know of your struggle.

So, are you all buckled up to find your sobriety?
