How One Near-Death Experience Shaped Rich Chi’s Mission

Rich Chi’s journey into wellness didn’t begin as a quiet, mindful stroll—it was more like a wake-up call that changed his perspective on health. At 19, he was training intensely for an upcoming mixed martial arts fight, pushing his body to its limits. On the outside, he appeared to be in peak physical condition. His medical tests showed no abnormalities. Yet, his energy was depleted, and severe exhaustion took its toll, nearly leading to a critical health crisis.

Today, Rich is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, registered yoga teacher, and a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Rich’s near-death experience motivated him to delve into holistic health. He co-founded a wellness center alongside an acupuncturist and a yoga instructor.   • Energy Awareness – Becoming mindful of personal energy levels and exploring practices that may enhance well-being, such as yoga and meditation.

Through a muscle release system he developed, Rich advocates for targeted techniques that help reduce muscle tension and promote relaxation. He suggests that releasing chronic tension can support flexibility, blood flow, and an overall sense of well-being.

A Focus on Energy and Holistic Health

A key element of Rich’s approach is his emphasis on energy flow within the body, drawing inspiration from Eastern wellness traditions. Practices like Qigong, yoga, and meditation have long been associated with stress reduction and improved mind-body awareness. Rich shares his personal experiences with these methods and encourages others to explore techniques that work for them.
