The Health Benefits of Eating Cricket Protein: An Interview With Golden Cricket CEO, Eli Halpern

When most people think of protein sources, they don’t picture crickets. Golden Cricket CEO and founder Eli Halpern is determined to change that. He’s on a mission to disrupt the nutritional market with cricket protein, a more sustainable protein source than traditional livestock and one that offers numerous health benefits. Continue reading to discover the positives of Golden Cricket protein and how Eli became passionate about this nutritional powerhouse.

If you’re curious about the benefits of cricket protein, it’s a complete protein, meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids the body needs. It also includes vitamins and minerals, including B12, iron, calcium, and zinc. Most importantly, it’s hypoallergenic, making it an excellent protein source for people with dietary restrictions or allergies. Unlike dairy or soy protein, cricket protein lacks lactose or soy, making it a safe option for people who are lactose intolerant or allergic to soy.

So how did Eli get into the cricket protein game? As a comedian and martial artist, he was always interested in health and nutrition. After learning about the sustainability benefits of cricket protein, Eli was intrigued. “I knew crickets were a more sustainable protein source than traditional livestock,” he explains. “But I also knew that to get people on board, I needed to create a product that was not only sustainable but also delicious and nutritious.”

And that’s precisely what Eli did. He built Golden Cricket entirely by himself, starting with a self-manufactured cricket protein bar. Within seven months of operating, he had already raised $100k from an investor. Now, Eli runs the company with the help of his younger brother and is on a mission to bring cricket protein to the public.

Of course, any new venture presents challenges. Eli faced his fair share, but he persevered. He’s now proud of his success. “I learned that before starting a business, you need to ask yourself if that’s really what you want,” he says. “It’s a lot of work and can be even more stressful than a salaried job. But if you’re passionate about what you’re doing, it can be incredibly rewarding.”

Looking to the future, Eli sees his brand in stores nationwide with an exciting marketing campaign sponsoring martial arts and other fitness-related events. He also wants to use his company to help rebuild impoverished societies. “I want to expand to Europe and other countries,” he says. “I truly believe that cricket protein is the future, and I want to be at the forefront of that movement.”

Golden Cricket is an innovative company that is making waves in the world of sustainable protein. With its high protein content, low environmental impact, and versatility in cooking, Golden Cricket is quickly becoming a popular choice for health-conscious individuals looking for a sustainable and delicious protein alternative. Founder Eli Halpern has shown that with a bit of creativity and a passion for sustainability, it is possible to positively impact the environment while providing a healthy and tasty alternative source of nutrition.
