Hailing from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Oybek Olimjonov manifested a deep passion for sports in his formative years. Oybek’s journey in wrestling started at the age of ten when he joined Uzbekistan’s famous wrestler, Dilshod Mansurov’s wrestling club. Demonstrating exceptional talent as a child, he secured victories in various youth and adult wrestling championships, including the Uzbekistan championship.
Upon completing high school, Oybek embarked on his journey to higher education, earning a Bachelor’s degree from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and a Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

During the period spanning 2014 to 2018, he assumed the role of a coach at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
