Caleb English: Pushing Limits, Breaking Barriers, and Running for a Cause

By: Tom White

Some people shy away from discomfort, but Caleb English runs straight into it. A relentless entrepreneur, endurance athlete, and philanthropist, he thrives on pushing limits in business, sports, and life. From surviving a near-fatal accident to training for one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons, Caleb embodies resilience, proving that genuine growth comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone. His latest challenge? Running 250 km across the Sahara Desert in the Marathon des Sables to raise $250,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Life-Altering Accident

At 18, Caleb’s world changed in an instant. A single decision to get into a vehicle with a drunk driver led to a head-on collision that nearly claimed his life. His injuries were catastrophic. He lost 50 pounds during a month-long hospitalization, required the removal of a third of his small intestine, and faced a long road to recovery. The accident shattered his plans, derailing his dream of attending film school.

But it also instilled in him an unshakable belief that people can return from anything. Instead of allowing adversity to define him, Caleb used it as fuel to rebuild, stronger than before. That mindset has shaped every challenge he has faced since.

The Entrepreneurial Drive

Caleb’s drive to push boundaries began at a young age. At eight, he started a paper route and expanded it by bringing his cousin on board to help streamline the process. This early entrepreneurial spirit stayed with him as he grew older. He often found himself frustrated by rigid systems and authority figures, continually seeking ways to improve and explore new possibilities, even when told to follow the conventional path.

That didn’t sit well with him. So, he carved his path. Walking away from traditional employment, Caleb built businesses, making sure he would never compromise his vision. While he keeps those ventures separate from his public persona, the mindset that drove him in business, the constant drive for improvement, is the same one that propels him forward in endurance sports.

From 3KM to Ultramarathons in a Year

Caleb never planned on becoming a runner. In April 2024, he could barely complete 3 km. But quitting was never an option. He showed up, pushed through, and completed his first 50 km ultramarathon just five months later.

In January 2025, Caleb took on an even more significant challenge: running an ultramarathon around a small track to raise money for cancer research. The race was physically and mentally demanding, with each lap testing his endurance. Despite the difficulties, he pushed through and completed the run, raising a significant amount for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Now, Caleb is focused on the Marathon des Sables, a challenging multi-stage race across the Sahara Desert. For this next challenge, his goal is to raise a substantial amount for cancer research, showing that endurance is driven by physical strength and a more profound sense of purpose.

A Father’s Mission

For Caleb, every challenge is about more than personal achievement. His biggest motivation? His two sons, Brady and Maddyn. Everything he does is to show them that anything is possible with discipline, hard work, and resilience. Whether in business, sports, or life, he believes in going all in because the most significant rewards come from the greatest challenges.

His philosophy, Go Far Go On, isn’t just a motto. It’s a way of life. Whether pushing the limits of business, breaking through physical barriers, or taking on the scorching sands of the Sahara, Caleb English is proving that no challenge is insurmountable.
