TaniA’s music draws comparisons to some of the industry’s legendary figures, as she deftly channels her personal experiences and resilience into her music, resulting in her global recognition for her evocative storytelling and powerful vocal range. From the inception of the epidemic, the name TaniA Kyllikki has been circulating on the internet. The raw, organic storytelling style of her records and her impressive 5-octave vocal range have garnered rave reviews in hundreds of magazines and news outlets. TaniA records the majority of her records in a self-built vocal booth she built from a wardrobe in her bedroom. She is renowned for her authenticity. A genuine source of inspiration, she is self-sufficient. Rynellton, her spouse, serves as her music producer, and she is responsible for the songwriting and co-production of all her songs, as well as the photography and editing of her own videos. She effectively oversees all these responsibilities while simultaneously addressing her chronic health conditions. She is also a survivor of past rape and abuse. TaniA released “In These Eyes,” her debut single from her upcoming album “Free-Spirited,” in 2023.
The innovative blend of genres in the song garnered extensive acclaim, paving the way for her subsequent single, “I Struck Gold With You.” Upon its release in February 2024, this song achieved success, charting twice on Spotify and garnering over two million views for its music video. TaniA is committed to not being put in a box musically; she only releases music she believes in. She is humble and grounded in her unwavering faith in God. She is preparing for the release of her second album, “Free-Spirited.”
TaniA is currently in the process of releasing a wider range of singles prior to the release of her second album. TaniA Kyllikki’s musical journey of triumph, creativity, and an unyielding spirit is nothing short of amazing. Her independent burgeoning career has made her a refreshing presence in the music industry. Today, we catch up with TaniA Kyllikki to discuss her plans for 2025, music, and life.
TaniA thank you for attending this interview today. Your story of resilience and unwavering commitment to your music is awe-inspiring. What made you decide to do this independently?
I’ve had some unfortunate situations in my life that led me to take a leap of faith and say, Hey, you got this! You have the ability to succeed independently because God has blessed you with the gift of music. I’ve been offered contacts multiple times. I’ve been signed as well. Given my free-spirited nature, I couldn’t tolerate the idea of musical control and confinement. Furthermore, I find it unbearable to witness the abundance of imitations within the mainstream industry. It seems like no one has the self-confidence to allow themselves to shine musically. I am the kind of artist who stays true to who I am. I am a free spirit musically; I love to randomly change things up depending on my mood. So, one month I could be releasing a soulful love ballad, and the next month I could release an uptempo house song.
Another month, it could be a rock song. I have so many layers to me musically that the public still hasn’t seen. I’m just getting my feet wet. Between myself and my husband, we are both musical misfits, lol… We have a profound love for music, regardless of its genre, and some may even describe us as musical daredevils. So, in order to expand my horizons, achieve success on my own terms, and garner recognition and admiration for my artistic abilities, I had to embrace independence. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made, professionally speaking. I am in love with what I do; between me and my husband, we basically have our own musical vault of nearly 2000 unreleased material. I’m loving this independent journey. I think for me to ever be signed now, it would have to be the right fit, and I’d need the creative control I have now.
You achieved yet another major career milestone with the release of “I Struck Gold with You” last year; the single charted twice on Spotify, and the music video had over two million views. Did you ever imagine that a song you wrote, dedicated to the profound love you share with your husband, would become such an independent success? And will your upcoming second album, Free-Spirited, feature this song?
It has honestly been surreal! I appreciate the worldwide love my husband, Rynellton, and I have received. I looked at my husband while he was washing the dishes and looking after me while I was feeling weak from my 21st bladder infection and just smiled, thinking, wow, I married this beautiful man; how blessed am I! Millions around the globe have celebrated our love, which is truly amazing. That doesn’t happen every day. I prayed for him before I knew him, and he did the same for me, proving that God was the one who brought us together. And yes, most definitely, “I Struck Gold With You” will be on my upcoming album.
Your song “Feel Good Vibes” is the one you released recently. How did you come up with the idea for this song?
The very core of Feel Good Vibes is the celebration and enjoyment of life. Being human can be tough, as we all face a variety of hardships throughout our lifetimes. However, we often overlook the blessings of life. I aimed to change the dynamics of living in the present moment by allowing all that is beneficial to shine through. I wanted to create a song that would bring joy and positivity to everyone, no matter their age.
What advise would you give to emerging artists hoping to achieve your success?
Eliminate all external distractions and concentrate your entire effort on becoming the most exceptional version of yourself. It will be challenging, but this is your musical voyage, not anyone else’s. Maintain a positive attitude, remain receptive to learning, and persevere. Your dream is within your grasp; you just have to work hard for it and not give up.
Do you have official date set for your Free-Spirited album’s release? And can you give us any hits of what we can expect from this album?
Not as of yet, but we will have official release date soon. As of now, we will be releasing singles prior to the album’s release. And expect the unexpected! There is a lot of goodies on this album and I can’t wait for everyone to finally hear it when it’s released.
