What is inspiration? the act of being emotionally influenced to perform or feel something. Inspiration opens our minds to new possibilities by allowing us to rise above our daily struggles and constraints. Inspiration affects our perceptions of our own skills, propelling us from complacency to possibilities. Inspiration, because of its elusive character, is often neglected. Inspiration arises naturally and without prompting.
And motivation is the process by which goal-oriented behaviors are initiated, guided, and maintained. It can be due to exposure to certain events or circumstances. For some, it can be a friend who progresses at the light’s speed and for others, it can be a totally life changing event such as seeing his father in that hospital room in the case of Naresh.
Naresh Babu Bynagari is a senior technology professional of Indian origin who arrived in the US as a student of Virginia International University. He obtained a Master’s degree in Computer and Information Sciences and bagged a job as an Android Developer at PCTEL RF Solutions immediately upon the completion of the course. This is how his professional journey began in the United States. Naresh excelled at a fairly rapid pace in his career being a quick learner and a highly dedicated and motivated professional. He quickly became an expert at his deliverables and was entrusted the responsibility to act as a team leader. After working with the organization for a year, he worked with TracFone Wireless, a no contract, prepaid mobile telephony services provider along with Synchronoss Technologies as an Android Developer for around 5 years.
Today, Naresh is working as the Director – Sales and Operations and the COO with Career Soft Solutions Inc. Career Soft Solutions is a global leader in technology-enabled business solutions such as ERP, SCM, PLM, WMS, CRM, portal, e-commerce, application development, project services, e-learning, training, staffing, and global sourcing. Naresh engages with the company’s leadership to develop an IT Operations & Infrastructure strategy that ensures a reliable, secure, and cost-effective solution that is aligned with and complements the company’s overall IT and business initiatives. He ensures that his clients’ focus always remains on driving competitive advantage in their core business instead of being entangled in supporting or supplementary activities.
But how did a mischievous child become a highly successful IT specialist in the US? Well, the answer is simple, with a lot of hard work along with motivation and inspiration. Naresh was born in Makta Village in Ghatkesar Mandal, Telangana, a state in southern India. Naresh came from a family with limited means but he led a carefree life with a “why bother” attitude in his childhood. His father Nagabushanam and mother Padma never received any formal education resulting in low family income, sufficient to raise 3 children but not enough to ensure a bright future for them. Facing difficult times during their lives due to low education, his parents vowed to provide the best possible education to their 3 children. In the quest of providing a better school for Naresh, they even moved to a city nearby as their native village didn’t offer a school that could compliment their aspirations.
To further support the family, Nagabushanam started a dairy farming business and worked with great dedication and commitment to ensure that milk and dairy products were delivered to every house that required his services. The reward was decent, but his expenses (children’s school, rent, and other essentials) were even greater, which quickly devoured his earnings, leaving him in debt.
All of this didn’t affect Naresh much and he was happy in his own world but one day things changed unexpectedly and there he was, standing helpless in front of his father, who was lying on a hospital bed with severe injuries from an accident he had been in. This situation shook him to his core and he promised himself that he would leave no stone unturned and work his fingers to the bone to become the tower of strength for his family. Naresh worked very hard to achieve excellent grades in his academic pursuit which earned him a seat in the Electronics and Computer Science Engineering program at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. His diligence helped him obtain a government scholarship which further reduced the financial burden of his educational expenses on his father. He completed several professional courses in the field of computer science concurrently with his engineering degree making him industry ready and destined to succeed in the IT industry.
Naresh tackles difficulties with intelligence, patience, and creative thinking, which has enabled him to effortlessly handle stressful and challenging situations. He is an active researcher who regularly publishes scientific articles in well-regarded journals like Scopus Indexed Journals and other extremely well-recognized peer reviewed journals. His article “Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Online Fake Transaction Alerting” discusses machine learning, the forms and scope of fraud seen in modern banking, e-commerce, and healthcare, and how machine learning has evolved into a creative, timely, and effective fraud prevention tool. In “Gradient Descent is a Technique for Learning to Learn” he describes how the design of an optimization method can be recast as a learning problem which enables the algorithm to automatically learn to exploit structure in the problems of interest. Their learning algorithms implemented by LSTMs easily beat generic, hand-designed competitors on tasks that they were taught together with adapting well to other challenges with comparable structure.
From being born into a low-income household to becoming a coveted technological architect, recognized author, and a successful entrepreneur in the United States, he has surely attained immense success. Diligence, commitment, and perseverance, he feels, are the key ingredients to his success.
