Josep Canals, a Spanish-born entrepreneur with a bold vision and an exceptional knack for success, has left his mark in multiple fields throughout his career. His versatility and commitment to innovation have become the hallmark of his endeavors, proving there are no limits to achieving success.
After completing his degree in Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin, Josep Canals returned to Spain. They joined JOCAVI, a central European shopping center manager, where he began to forge his path to success. One of his most notable achievements was the automation of the garment warehouse, which increased productivity and boosted the export of clothing to the entire old continent. His dedication and vision for improving operational efficiency are evident early in his career.
In 2007, Josep turned towards the world of renewable energy by installing a solar plant in Murcia, helping to supply electricity to a rural area. Along this same path, he participated in the El Rancho project, where installing solar panels provided energy to the campsite. A rainwater collection system was also designed to keep the place operating, facing water shortages. Sustainably.
In 2017, Josep embarked on an exciting collaboration with Girodrones, contributing to developing a drone with multispectral imaging sensors. This drone is used in agriculture and allows farmers to manage the irrigation and fertilization of crop fields more effectively. His vision for technology and his passion for sustainable agriculture came together in this innovative project.
However, Canals’ versatility is broader than technology and renewable energy. In 2013, he opened InSitu, a restaurant with a different concept in a small town on the Costa Brava. It was the first restaurant to offer varied environments and a wide gastronomic offer. This innovative Food Market concept, in which every corner of the premises provided a unique culinary experience, became an instant success.
Beyond his love for gastronomy, Josep has also been involved in aviation since 1992. In line with his focus on the different, he founded Best Aviation. This company focused on expanding a field with a school of flight and adding a bar and restaurant to immerse customers in the exciting world of aviation.
Canals has proven that versatility and innovation can lead to success in any field.
