From Convicted Felon to an Inspirational Public Speaker: Dr. Angelo Reynolds’ Journey of Transformation

Meet Dr. Angelo Reynolds, a Maryland native who faced numerous challenges throughout his life. Overcoming illiteracy and learning difficulties during his school years, Angelo went on to become a successful speaker and life coach, even earning a PhD from American University.

However, this path took a dark turn when he got entangled with a fraudulent company while running his business, a counseling and mentoring service, resulting in him being convicted of Medicaid fraud. For 7 years, he bore the burden of being a felon, followed by 1 year of house arrest .During his house arrest, Angelo channeled his determination into writing books about personal and professional development. He sold copies of his books during the limited time he was allowed out, using the proceeds to pay for his ankle bracelet and support himself.

Despite battling alcoholism, Angelo found purpose in writing and his passion for transforming lives. In 2017, he was finally exonerated, getting a fresh start on life. Angelo’s journey was marked by childhood trauma, abandonment, and poverty, leading to experiences of PTSD and depression. Yet, he turned these adversities into motivation for personal growth.

His strong belief in the power of connecting with people led him to choose a path of engagement and impact. Even when he faced the test of faith in 2004, enduring a conviction for fraud and losing his private practice, Angelo decided to use his innate talents as a writer, speaker, and trainer to help others facing setbacks and life-altering events.

Out of this passion, Dr. Reynolds established the Transformers Academy, dedicated to assisting others in their own life transformations. He became an inspirational and empowering speaker, trainer, and life coach. His vision of transformation centers on the continuous transition of self from one place to another, encompassing both personal and professional development.

Dr. Reynolds identifies five universal principles of transformation: Spiritual, Health, Career, Education, and Relationships. These principles, he believes, act as defining catalysts for shaping one’s future. By focusing on these aspects, individuals can embark on a transformative journey that leads to self-discovery and empowerment.
