Success is not predestined to only a select few. As proven by entertainment household name Tyrone Evans Clark, even those with stark beginnings can lead a life of triumphs when they pour passion and dedication into realizing their dreams.
Tyrone Evans Clark is intimately familiar with life’s hardships. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, this industry powerhouse bears a story of struggles and overcoming. When he was six, he and his family moved to Berrien Springs, Michigan, where, years later, he would lose his 2-year-old brother, Carl, in a house fire. The road afterward was characterized by further challenges, from being forced to live in a homeless shelter in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to contending with his father’s addiction and abusive behavior.
But today, this icon of resilience stands as a multi-awarded American entertainer, actor, executive producer, writer, and director who has garnered wide acclaim for his work on Homeless Sam & Sally (the tv series on BINGE Networks) and Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie, the latter of which was released in 2020 and garnered numerous recognitions and is currently playing in film festivals all over the world.
As the first film that Tyrone Evans Clark has directed, executive produced, and written for, Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie showcases his brilliance at the craft as well as highlights his tremendous potential. On top of serving as the creative mind behind this film, whose main character is based on Tyrone’s past homeless self, he is also credited for several more projects, including Reverie, Netflix’s Velvet Buzzsaw, Netflix’s Magic for Humans, LIFETIME’s Seatbelt Psychic, E! Entertainment’s Dating #NoFilter, BET’s Running Out of Time, AXS TV’s WOW – WOMEN OF WRESTLING, MTV’s Flex on my Ex, and FOX’s Phone Swap, to name a few.
Included in his long list of accomplishments is the establishment of Tyrone Evans Clark, Inc. and Tyrone Evans Clark, LLC. It is through these ventures that the technology-related skills of this Science, Game Art, & Design graduate from The Art Institute of California-Los Angeles shine through.
Right now, this multi-faceted personality is making significant moves toward the forefront of the music industry, with the release of his 5th single (genre: hip-hop/rap), “Gotta Get Some Tissue!” Widely available on different streaming platforms, this track is inspired by the COVID-19 outbreak. It seeks to make people laugh during these particularly difficult times by focusing on the idea of not having tissue paper.
Skillfully sung/rapped and written by Tyrone Evans Clark, the song comes hand in hand with a music video that he also directed and produced. “For a while, I’ve tried to come up with a comical and creative way to express my feelings for the lack of toilet paper and tissue in the world. The main cartoon character, “The Tissue Man,” is a caricature of me and expresses the discomfort of my new reality. This character drifts off into la-la land when he runs out of tissue paper, going on an adventure and meeting interesting characters along the way,” he shares. This song “Gotta Get Some Tissue” and along with other songs such as “Hope”, “Look Me in My Eyes”, and “Video Game” are even in the multi-award-winning film Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie (and TV series) soundtrack.
“Gotta Get Some Tissue” is cleverly crafted to bring some semblance of light to the darkness of today’s world. This brainchild of Tyrone Evans Clark is another addition to his long string of creative outputs that aim to remind people that there is hope even amid debilitating circumstances.
