Internet sensations. Online fame. Global stardom. The two brothers have seriously gained attraction and desire from fans all over the globe, racking millions of followers watching the two skyrocket into their stardom careers. Ryan and Sammy Halsa are both recognized as American internet idols. Ryan is best known for his comedy skits and lip-syncing videos on camera on Instagram. He has reached an audience of over 3.6 million followers and turned into one of the world’s most media/paparazzi-covered influencers. Not too different is Sammy Halsa, an American social media star with a strong fanbase on Instagram. Sammy has also been one of Hollywood’s top media-covered celebrities.
Ryan and Sammy have been on social media for more than eight years. With his following, Sammy is promoting on his Instagram to “Turn off comments. Turn off bullies.” He has explained that many of his fans go through cyberbullying, and he does not condone it. “I think [right now] the industry’s future is looking quite negative because there is a lot of anger and hatred on the internet, which is why I am making it my number one priority to show good and send a positive message to not only themselves but to spread the love and positivity for each other,” Sammy explains.
Ryan and Sammy were born two years apart in New Port Beach, California. Raised in Diamond Bar, they found a passion for the entertainment world and were constantly driven to be the most famous and influential people at an early age. At age 11 (Ryan) and 13 (Sammy), they started creating daily vlogs. With little to no success, they did this for three months. After closing this chapter and revisiting a life in social media, they both attended Diamond Bar High School, where they were bullied and told a career in this field was a joke, leading them to take time off and pursue regular jobs.
Six and a half years later, in July of 2021, Sammy and Ryan started posting skits on Snapchat, quickly gaining followers. Eventually, they reached a consistent one million viewer milestone on Snapchat. Then, they switched to Instagram as they realized this was a promising platform to be involved with. Ryan started running a social media account for a brain and health beverage company, “Breinfuel.” he worked there for a month and learned many strategies that brands would use, but 99% of influencers wouldn’t. When he started applying this to his social media accounts, Ryan found immediate success, and shortly after, Sammy followed suit on his account. They were both grossing between 1-2million views on each IG vlog they posted. After creating Instagram vlogs from November 2021 until January 2022, they decided it was time to take it to the next level. Ryan and Sammy Halsa said, “If you want a career and to make a living from social media, it has to be on YouTube.“
They decided to come together on one account but separate vlogs. That way, they can share an audience and get immaculate engagement. When they debuted their YouTube channel, it grossed over 300k subscribers within two days of launching after months of posting YouTube shorts.
Sammy Halsa explains, “Our success isn’t luck. Everything we do is strategical, even down to how much we post. From an outside perspective, you might think, “why do you only post once a week if you’re getting a lot of views?”. We look at videos like stocks, like money. If you put a lot of it out, the weight of each one is less. The importance of living in LA is within the heart of entertainment. You are surrounded by everyone with a creative mindset and aren’t looked at so differently. Back home, we were looked at as an outcast and weren’t in the right environment. Being in the wrong environment is crucial to mental health and success.”
