Rising Rapper Yung Dub D Tells All Regarding His Meteoric Rise in the Music Industry

The music industry has long been the goal for many aspiring musicians, but the journey to fame is riddled with obstacles. However, while it can be difficult to break into the music industry, many have proven that it isn’t impossible. Joining the fray of global fame is up-and-coming rapper Yung Dub D.

Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Kedric Dewon Battee has made a name for himself as Yung Dub D. For as long as he could remember, the rising artist had a penchant for all things musical. As he grew older, the prospect of creating a career in the music industry beckoned to him. By his teenage years, Yung Dub D would join his friends in house parties, mingling among their peers and enjoying their youth.

The house parties served more than just a gathering for the artist and his friends as they found themselves exposed to different types of music. Often, Yung Dub D would spend the hours after the festivities reflecting on the songs he heard, slowly understanding what genre he wanted to delve into. Once he had a grasp of what he liked, the young artist started polishing his craft.

By 2014, Yung Dub D started recording with a local group named “Check Life,” where he would produce music for his fellow members. His peers could easily see his potential and often encouraged him to pursue a solo act. Although it took a while, Yung Dub D started to strike out on his own in 2017.

Since then, the artist has released some popular tracks like “Core,” “Put It All On Me,” “I Agree,” “In My Head,” “What You Gonna Do,” and “Alligator Lizard.” His track “Core” was responsible for launching him into the global rap scene. Its energetic music and rhythmic melody attracted the attention of rap lovers, boosting his morale and helping him realize he was on the right path.

As an artist, Yung Dub D is renowned for his offbeat style and collaborations with artists like DJ Tom Cruise, DJ Cinemac, DJ Mad Lurk, and DJ Official, to name a few. His works tell different stories of events that transpired throughout his life, most of which fans have found themselves relating to.

When asked about why he chose his stage name, Yung Dub D revealed that he decided on it as a testimony to his father. “I came up with Yung Dub D because I am a double of my father, who passed away when I was six years of age,” he said. “Even though he is deceased, I know he is still with me on my journey. I feel like my name should have been Donald. Moreover, my middle name is Dewon, so that’s where Dub D comes in.”

With his career on a stable trajectory to the top, Yung Dub D has accumulated a massive following on Instagram where he has been updating fans on his latest ventures. Recently, he released a music video for his song “Codes,” with more tracks and videos to follow.
