Qing Zhao: A Maestro of the Modern Piano World

Qing Zhao’s journey in the world of music is a narrative woven with passion and dedication for the piano. This pianist’s performances have not only captivated audiences in China but have also left an indelible mark on the international stage. Her performance at Steinway Hall in New York stands as a testament to her exceptional skill and artistry, described by many as both unforgettable and stunning.

Qing Zhao’s rise to prominence began in 2017, marking a series of remarkable performances at the Guangzhou Opera House, Shanghai Steinway Hall, and New York Steinway Hall. Each venue witnessed her profound connection with the piano, a relationship that transcends mere performance to embody a deep-seated passion and understanding of music. Her ability to convey intricate emotions and nuances through her playing has earned her acclaim and respect in the classical music community.

In addition to her performance career, and as a judge for the 6th American United Piano Competition, this experience was both memorable and fulfilling for her. As one of the judges, I was not only tasked with objectively evaluating their technical skills and musical expression but also delving deeper into understanding the musical stories and emotional expressions behind their performances. “During the event, I had the privilege of witnessing many astonishing piano performances, each showcasing unique musical talents and limitless potential.” she said.

Throughout the judging process, I observed that each contestant had their own musical philosophy and style, making every performance a unique musical journey. I strived to maintain fairness and objectivity, aiming to provide each participant with valuable advice and feedback to help them grow and improve.

Qing Zhao’s life is deeply intertwined with the piano, from her personal experiences to her professional achievements. Her sensitivity to the instrument’s touch and sound is exceptional, allowing her to produce music that resonates with purity and emotional depth. This sensitivity is not an innate gift alone but also a product of her extensive experience in both performance and teaching.

As the main coordinator and speaker for the SIA Art Education Exhibition’s music gallery, she found this experience to be both exhilarating and enriching. “This exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for me to share the achievements and progress of our students in the field of music, while also conveying the importance and significance of music education.”

During this exhibition, as a speaker, her role was not only to introduce the exhibits and projects within the gallery but also to convey the stories and emotions behind the music, helping the audience to gain a deeper understanding of the positive impact music has on students’ growth and development.

Through this presentation and exchange, Qing Zhao was able to share the outcomes and experiences of music education with the audience while also listening to their feedback and perspectives. “This interaction was a valuable learning and growth opportunity for me. Engaging with the audience allowed me to deeply feel the power and charm of music, further solidifying my commitment to continuing my efforts in music education.” Zhao added.

Overall, being the main coordinator and speaker for the SIA Art Education Exhibition’s music gallery was an honor and a source of great satisfaction. This experience will motivate me to dedicate myself even more to music education, bringing the beauty and inspiration of music to more students. I am grateful for this rare opportunity to participate in such a meaningful educational exhibition, sharing the charm of music and the power of education with the audience.
