Matt Kirkegaard created Movement Property Group (Keller Williams) and, at the time, saw it as a means to recover from being a homeless musician. Little did he know it would propel him to a successful real estate agent, world traveler and family man. Now he and his team are rejuvenating the Tennessee real estate space.
He began his run at real estate in 2015 and quickly propelled himself to Top 10 highest volume office status in the state of Tennessee. After founding ‘Make Nashville Your Home’ in 2018, which later rebranded to Movement Property Group, his career skyrocketed as he is annually recognized as a Top 100 Realtor.
Movement Property Group provides expertise for buyers and sellers in a complicated market. It currently serves the Belle Meade, Forest Hills, East and West Nashville, Germantown, Franklin, Green Hills, 12 South, and Brentwood areas.
A Talent
Kirkegaard is a serious talent in front of a piano, having played the instrument since the age of six. In fact, he even once turned down an opportunity to join the illustrious The Juilliard School, opting instead to pursue composing.
He has two albums on his slate currently in 2019’s Stories of India and Love Undefined, which was released in 2021.
A world traveler, Kirkegaard visits numerous states and countries each year, along with his family, and all is chronicled and logged, thanks to his wife’s travel blog, Porch to Passport.
His most-recent venture in mainstream media was being featured on the popular lifestyle and real estate streaming show, The American Dream.
A Humanitarian
Kirkegaard and his wife have three kids, including an adopted daughter and son, both from a India, which prompted him to take a more active role in helping abolish human trafficking.
Linking up with Alliance of Freedom, Restoration and Justice (AFRJ), Kirkegaard serves as the Chair of the Individual Membership of the Freedom Council.
The AFRJ fights for the vulnerable with the sole mission of ending human trafficking. It is dedicated to creating solutions, via collaborations and teamwork, to support those suffering and in need. At the center of its core values are excellence, innovation and collaboration.
Kirkegaard is also leading the charge at Movement Property Group to play a key role in enhancing East Nashville, Tenn., with offering services to the new luxury Shelby Green Development community. The project broke ground in March and is currently due to erect 20 homes along the Shelby Golf Course this summer.
Additionally, the Movement Property Group also gives back to the local community via its non-profit organization, LiftUp. Kirkegaard and Co. donate 10% of closing profits to the fund and the money is used to provide mortgage assistance, rent relief and other home-centric services for struggling families and those affected by unfortunate events and circumstances.
Kirkegaard and his team are devoted to putting people in homes in the Tennessee housing market and the sky’s the limit for Movement Property Group and potential homebuyers.
