Lexy Panterra Opens Up About the Inspiration Behind Her Fashion and Music

Lexy Panterra is not just a name you will find at music events and live shows. She is a popular face on the ramps as well as on the billboards. One day, you might see her performing at a global sports event, and another day, she is swirling in designer wear on the runway at famous fashion events. That’s how Lexy Panterra defined her life by not restricting herself from exploring everything she is passionate about.

Lexy Panterra is beyond just a music artist or a performer. You might find her clicking pictures right in front of her own billboard at Times Square with hundreds of other people. That doesn’t mean she cannot separate herself from the crowd. Gifted with an eclectic sense of fashion, Lexy can pull off uptown and downtown looks as a trendsetter. Recently visiting New York Fashion Week in February 2023, Lexy shared, “I was super excited to be in New York for everything going on. I have so much new music (released and coming), so performing my music live and seeing real feedback is always amazing.”

Her somber yet cheerful nature reveals her inner enigma, which is reflected in her music. When asked about balancing her music career and her new “Twerkout” dance classes with her plans for the New York fashion week, Lexy revealed that she had to drop her plans for dance classes due to poor health, but she can never miss out on fashion week.

Lexy has already made headlines for her recent single, “Bad Bitch”, which showcased modern women in an amazingly conceptualized video. Sharing her ideas behind the project, Lexy said, “I just wanted to showcase women of all colors and sizes and the best ways I could, and promote that just being your best self is all you need in this life. It’s important to have a variety of representation in what I do, and remind women that we can be independent from all the typical women stereotypes that exist today, such as being a housewife, or being too skinny, too fat, too religious, etc.” She believes that “Bad Bitch” introduced diversity in the way she has presented music so far.

Lexy is of Iranian origin, a place known for its diverse culture of music and dance. Talking about the current situation of Iranian women where they are fighting for freedom. She believes Iranians are “musical people,” sharing further, “I feel very lucky to be given this life here in the US, where I am free to express myself any way I feel at any given moment. From my clothes to my music, I know that while everything is being scrutinized since I am in the public eye, I know it’s not going to get me killed for walking down the street. The saying “women, life, freedom,” isn’t just a mantra it’s a way of life they are seeking and I am so inspired by their courage to fight for it. Iranians are known for being very musical people, always singing and dancing whenever they are safe to, and so my music and expression comes from a place of gratitude for that and I want to show the world another version of how we perceive Iranian women and highlight their struggles in any way I can.”

Lexy has always been in the limelight for her unique sense of style. She doesn’t prefer to go by brands or designers. “Feeling good in your own skin” is her definition of fashion, and her clothes simply accentuate this feeling. Like any other fashion influencer, Lexy is open to high fashion and couture, but she also shops vintage pieces. She often visits local thrift stores as she loves revamping those pieces and making them fresh again. Lexy dives deeper, saying, “While I am open to high fashion and couture, who doesn’t, but I really don’t really care WHO the designer is as long as I feel confident in it. It’s more about feeling good in your own skin; clothes should highlight that. I like to shop vintage pieces as well, and hitting local used clothing shops and revamping those to make it fresh and new.”

Lexy feels blessed to live in the US, where she enjoys the freedom of expression despite being in the public eye. The country has given her a fulfilling career and a huge fan base she loves connecting to; especially her love for New York City.

“It’s just wherever New York takes me, let me know, and I’ll go! There are so many spots to hit and also get content to share with my fans. I was super excited to go see my “Bad Bitch” billboard this time, that I did myself. So I’ll be getting content over there and everywhere else I have time for. There are a couple new restaurants that I came across that I will definitely try to check out, but if I tell you then they’ll be super crowded when I get there. I’ve been dealing with Crohns for a while, and it has been tough to adjust to, and I’ve been tapping into more healthier places to scout out so we shall see…”

While Lexy is passionate about creating more music and scaling new heights in the fashion industry, she is also someone who loves to explore new spots and restaurants around NYC to create more content for her fans.

Lexy Panterra’s new single and video for “UNDER ME” is out Friday, February 24, via all digital platforms.
