The road to stardom is long and arduous, but not impossible. Those who have survived the process either bask in their victory or look back at the ones struggling and help them up. JoeCat, born Joseph Reyna, is an accomplished person in many fields. He hopes to change the entire development process for artists to minimize the occurrence of artists being taken advantage of by the industry.
It is no secret in the music industry that any new musician without legal representation is vulnerable to opportunistic contracts. JoeCat is well aware of this fact and is working on the technology to compensate artists fairly and make the tedious processes more convenient for all parties as a whole.
As someone who had met success in the pursuit of his many passions, he encourages others to do the same. At the same time, he reminds them that any contribution that will benefit society is much more valuable than any self-serving goal. As such, one must operate with the end goal of contributing to a better society.
JoeCat is a professional hacker, songwriter, and DJ in one. He is a hip-hop artist working on the development of technology and working to protect national security. Before all that, he first aspired to be a professional dancer before he discovered that he had a passion for other respects as well. His desire to make a change for the betterment of others comes from his own painful experiences, as well as the moral obligations he strives to fulfill.
As a speaker, he has been booking keynotes on the implications of the creative industry and its changes on the corporate landscape, and vice versa. As a hacker, he works in a company offering the only data erasure solutions in the world. As an artist, he had gone viral in Russia with the song Where The Party At with more than 26 million YouTube views and earned his first TV placement on MTV in 2014. As a tour DJ, he would market and manage tours while running advertisements for local businesses. He has also toured with major artists and helped facilitate and negotiate deals between promoters and ticketing companies.
Thanks to his diverse set of skills and readiness to take on new things, he discovered that he had a passion for marketing. He was able to grow other brands and artists better than his own. Thus, the iDream Music Label and Publishing Company was born in 2008. He has worked with various artists, including Trill Sammy, Mark Battles, Zak Downtown, and Rockie Fresh. He is witnessing a steadily rising Spotify follower count, thanks to that.
Having his skills and potential acknowledged was what started it all for JoeCat. Though with a difficult childhood due to financial constraints, the love for his family drove him forward. Witnessing his mother leave a basket of groceries is a scene he never wanted to relive, and he will never have to, thanks to his hard work and ingenuity.
