GENTING HIGHLANDS — Under the glimmering lights of the Arena of Stars, something special unfolded. For three hours, Malaysia’s beloved rock artist and internationally recognized therapeutic musician JessC brought a unique performance to the iconic venue, transforming it into a sanctuary of light, sound, and soul healing.
Titled “My Style,” the concert was more than just a musical showcase — it was a multi-sensory journey, carefully designed to uplift, inspire, and promote healing.
As both a Doctor of Integrative Clinical Medicine and a certified therapeutic musician, the Australia-based singer JessC combined her medical expertise with her artistic approach, creating a show that blended both science and spirit. “Tonight, we’re not just singing songs,” she said in the opening video message. “We’re cleansing emotions, releasing energy, and illuminating our inner light.”
A Galaxy on Stage
With over 5,000 fans in attendance, the concert’s central theme of “light” resonated through every element — from high-powered stage lighting and immersive visuals to the sea of glowing color-changing sticks in the crowd. The result? An atmosphere that felt dream-like.
Across 33 songs, JessC effortlessly moved between languages and cultures — singing in Mandarin, English, and Malay, and accompanying herself on piano, organ, keyboard, and keytar. She delivered both original hits and timeless classics, each imbued with intention and emotional depth.
Backed by a talented live band featuring traditional Chinese instruments, Western pop arrangements, and a string ensemble, every note carried a purpose: to heal and awaken.
A Show of Many Faces and Many Feelings
Visually, the concert was a stunning fashion journey. From a shimmering “Diamond Warrior Princess” to a bridal look infused with Malay traditional flair, a dreamy pink princess dress, and a bold Chinese red finale ensemble, JessC captivated not only the ears but also the eyes — embodying every phase of the emotional spectrum she sang through.
There were also surprises: a breathtaking duet with Malaysian songstress Fauziah Latiff on “Tak Terpisah,” appearances by beloved stage actors, and a deeply personal moment when JessC paused, overcome by emotion, during “Love in an Instant,” overwhelmed by the love she felt from the audience.
But perhaps the most tender moment came before the encore, when her husband took the stage with flowers and a gentle kiss — a gesture that sparked warm applause and touched many in the crowd.
Encore of Unity and Upliftment
The concert’s closing sequence was a high-energy celebration: “Text Me,” “Expose,” and a rousing rendition of “Sinaran” turned the arena into a sing-along, with fans waving lights, belting lyrics, and dancing with joy.
From Malaysia to the World
More than a local triumph, My Style showcased JessC’s growing global profile. Fans and media flew in from Indonesia, China, Australia, the US, Europe, and beyond. Her track “Be Strong” has connected deeply with international audiences — many writing in to say it helped them through challenging times.
“Sometimes, just hearing the words Be Strong from someone who means it, is enough,” she shared backstage.
