Life is not a bed of roses. Still, the stumbling block should only serve to remind us that there is so much more ahead to achieve. One individual who kept this lesson in mind is Rayvon Cystrunk, best known under the stage name Uno Paper Boi, a musical artist who clawed out from poverty to make a magical life for himself in the music industry.
Born in Riverside, California, a poor community known for its elevated crime rates, Rayvon Cystrunk, also known as Uno Paper Boi, grew up struggling with all the negativity around him. To keep his mind away from the poverty and crime surrounding him, he began skateboarding while seeking a scholarship from the locals. When he was 13, his life took an upward trajectory as he relocated to Atlanta. The move to a city of diverse and rich cultural heritage exposed him to countless possibilities, and his passion changed from skateboarding to music and acting. Slowly he started, singing and acting, earning a spotlight on the stage until his name became synonymous with great entertainment.
Today, he has carved a niche in the industry and constantly heats the streets with melodic tunes. He has collaborated with a few stars in the hip-hop community, including some A-list producers. Just recently, the trailblazing entertainer Uno Paper Boi released a new album entitled The Blue Devil. The album is currently heating the streets with its sweet jams and breaking the airwaves. The album is now streaming on all platforms and has reached over fifty thousand streams on Spotify in the first week, and is sure to do more in the coming weeks. With no intention of slowing down, Uno Paper Boi has started working on his next single, released next month. The single will feature NL Ryeshawn prod by k.e.
As an individual who continuously strived for success, Uno Paper Boi makes music for the youth in poor communities that feel they have no chance of making it out. “I want to be living proof and hope that it is possible if you follow your dreams and put in the work everything is possible. I plan to be a pillar to my community to give back to those less fortunate because I know how it feels to be that kid to grow up not having much and wanting the world,” he shared.
In a statement, the iconic entertainer shared his motivation, “Other great stars motivated me to become what I am today. So now, I want to leave my footprints in the game trying to become a motivation for others who want to become great leaders in the music industry. Also, the pain of being poor growing up was probably my greatest motivation trying to make sure I never go back to that place and that my children would never have to see that if I have children one day.”
