Since time immemorial, people have been conditioned to conform to the rules set by society and anyone who dares to express their individuality and uniqueness experienced discrimination and have been subjected to harsh judgments. GeoMike122, born Michael Ciolino, is an educator and community leader who wishes to change this mindset through their music.

As a non-binary person, they encountered firsthand how some people ridicule and mock those who do not fit into the ideals prescribed by society. In their teenage years, they were bullied and even faced numerous personal and family problems, including mental health issues and their parents’ divorce. However, they did not let all of this define them and stop them from improving and becoming better. Instead, they decided to share their story with the world and used it as a way to motivate and persuade others to overcome their obstacles and not be afraid of showing their true selves. Being a motivational speaker and community leader, he has spoken in numerous events, including the Fair Lawn Pride in 2019.

By trade, they are an elementary teacher in a public school in Passaic County. They are also an advocate of conserving nature and are the co-chair of the Fair Lawn Green Team that promotes a more sustainable lifestyle and community.

Their Sicilian, Italian, Mediterranean, Scottish, and Hispanic heritage has also given them a wide array of perspectives and greatly enhanced their creativity. Over the years, the performer developed their love for the arts and music even more, which is why they have made the decision to venture into the music industry. 

Most of their work takes inspiration and can be attributed to their many life and cultural experiences. Inclusivity is the driving force of everything they do, and the music they create aims to encompass all age groups. They enjoy interacting with a community of like-minded individuals through various social media platforms, where they hope to spread their message of inclusivity and acceptance. 

GeoMike122’s very first single, “Whimsical,” has effectively set the stage and gives fans an insight into the singer’s vision and purpose as a recording artist. Released three months ago, it talks about how the musician gains confidence by not letting ‘distractors’ get to their head. 

Paying homage to their Hispanic roots, they made a Spanish version of the song, which is a remix called “Caprichosx.” Just three weeks ago, they finally dropped the music video of the song. 

Their most recent single and music video “Abyss,” on the other hand, sheds light on their personal experience and battle with depression as well as chronicles the highs and lows of creativity. The catalog of all of their work is available on the artist’s Youtube channel.

Although relatively new to the music scene, they plan to put out more music that everyone can relate to in the near future. Committed to growing their audience, GeoMike122 hopes to inspire more people, especially the youth, through the songs they create.
