The Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs) 2023 have officially wrapped up, and what a spectacle it was! In addition to the incredible music, the EDMAs also celebrated the accomplishments of industry professionals, such as producers, songwriters, and DJs who have contributed to the growth and success of the EDM scene over the past year. Fans showed their support by casting their votes for their favorite artists, proving that the EDM community is as passionate and dedicated as ever. Mau P had an exceptional day at this year’s EDMAs, snagging both “House Song of the Year” and “Dance Song of the Year” for his groundbreaking and innovative work on “Drugs From Amsterdam.” The track has not only dominated dance floors worldwide but has also significantly influenced the industry. Armada Music’s Maykel Piron received the prestigious “Industry Achievement” award, recognizing his outstanding contributions and status as a leading international figure in the world of electronic dance music.
The event proved to be a powerful moment for women in the industry as a whole, with VASSY making history as the first-ever female recipient of the prestigious “Icon” award after years of trailblazing and inspiring a generation of women in the EDM scene. Zara Larsson’s enchanting voice earned her the “Best Vocalist” title, HALIENE’s remarkable talent and impact secured “Female Artist of the Year,” and the dynamic duo NERVO reigned supreme as “Best Group.” This year’s EDMAs truly showcased the impressive strides and accomplishments of women in electronic dance music.
Other notable winners at this year’s event included Armin van Buuren, who won “Best Radio Show” and “Best Music Video”; David Guetta & Bebe Rexha for “Dance Radio Song of the Year” and “Best Use of Sample”; Regard, who scooped up “Dance Radio Artist of the Year”; and Purple Disco Machine, who took home “Underground DJ of the Year” for the second year in a row. Martin Garrix & Zedd secured the “Best Collaboration” award, while Dom Dolla was named “Tech House DJ of the Year.” Loud Luxury won the “Dance/Electro Pop Song” category, and Spinnin’ Records was honored as “Dance Label of the Year”.
