[London, UK]—From December 12 to 15, 2024, the Christmas art exhibition “Glory, Homeland, and the Future: A Christmas Celebration” will be held at the M P Birla Millennium Gallery in London. This exhibition invites audiences on an emotional journey, exploring memories and sentiments of home, the pursuit of glory, and aspirations for the future through the universal language of art.
The exhibition showcases the longing for home, a sentiment rooted in warm childhood memories or the distant affection of loved ones. Each piece aims to evoke reflections on our sense of belonging and the ever-present “home” within us. The works offer a unique opportunity to connect with the universal experience of nostalgia, reminding viewers of the enduring power of cherished memories. Glory, another key theme, captures the milestones and regrets of life, encouraging audiences to revisit the pivotal moments that have defined their journeys while honoring the values that guide them forward. The concept of journey represents growth through solitude, with diverse works capturing the delicate balance between isolation and hope. Together, these themes weave a narrative that resonates deeply with audiences from all walks of life, fostering a collective sense of introspection.
Curated by the team at Y Manifesto, the exhibition is led by representative curator Yuran Lin and Executive Curator Xuechen Wang, with honorary partners Shuyi Liu and Yachu Feng. Alongside showcasing the works of 21 remarkable artist groups, the exhibition also benefits from the expertise and insights of two distinguished jurors. Their collective vision ensures the event is not only a showcase of exceptional talent but also a celebration of artistic diversity and collaboration. By bringing together creators from various disciplines and cultural backgrounds, the exhibition fosters a meaningful dialogue that transcends boundaries. This synergy highlights the transformative power of art to unite and inspire.
The first juror, Peiyao (Heather) Tang, is a graphic designer specializing in visual and brand design at the esteemed Mucho Design Studio. She is also a freelance designer who developed the “TO BE HUMAN” campaign for JUNOCO, reflecting the brand’s sustainability values while strengthening its bond with customers. Additionally, she created the branding for Pascal Bookstore, an independent bookstore in her hometown, demonstrating her dedication to supporting local businesses. The second juror is Mingyue Qu, a chief product designer based in Los Angeles who focuses on product and user experience design. She has led redesign projects for top-tier clients, including Netflix, Amazon, ByteDance, and Wish, bringing innovative perspectives to the exhibition.
The participating artists include: Shiyao Xia, Zixiang Zhang, Xiang Zhai, Yihong Pan, Sizhe Wang, Annie He, Yefan Liu & Zilan Zhou & Jiayi Chen, Yubo Zhao, JQYY (Jing Chen, Qizhen Tang, Yanci Chen, Yinzhu Yao), Mengyu Zhou, Yuying Song, Yifei Cheng, Fiona Chen, Jiaxing Guo, Jingjiao Zhang, Xiaosu Jing, Yilun Li, Andi Zhou & Siyuan Ma & Bo Bao, Chunxuan Yu, Liying Peng, Jinda Zhong & Hui Jing.
