Christian Singer Hugo Herrera Spreads a Message of Hope

Christian & Gospel Music accounts for a larger share of total on-demand streams in the US compared to the combined share of Jazz and Classical.

It helps people to express their feelings, emotions, and thoughts to God in a way that is unique to them, and it helps us to feel closer to God and to experience his presence in a tangible way. In Guatemala, Hugo Herrera, a very respected Christian musician, has uplifted, inspired and brought listeners closer to God all over the world.

Herrera became a true icon in his country and worldwide. He started his music career at age fourteen in the church Casa de Dios, in Guatemala, one of the most famous churches in the world. Thanks to his work in this church Hugo started to attend a number of TV and radio interviews. In 2000 he created the Christian band SIERVOS, which placed some of its singles on the first positions in the radios in Guatemala. He was the lead singer, guitarist, and composer. This band gave him his first nomination in 2002, when one of their singles was nominated to the Christian awards, Viva Awards, celebrated in Guatemala.

For Herrera Christian music was not only a passion but his purpose in life. Soon after, his music had transcended frontiers and one of the biggest record labels in the world, Sony Music Mexico, signed the musician for a 7-year contract. For this reason, he moved to Mexico. In Sony, he worked with some of the biggest producers and composers, such as Arturo Medina, Manu Moreno, Javier Calderon, or Salvador Riso, among others.

At this point his career was skyrocketing and Herrera created another band called ACCESO, which became a lead band in the radios of Cancun and then Mexico City.

The singer became known for his particular way of writing moving lyrics and composing melodies that touched the hearts of the listeners. Herrera became one of the most respected musicians in this genre, moving thousands of people to attend his performances everywhere he goes.

Hugo kept working with some of the best-known singers. He developed an excellent relationship with Chilean singer Mon Laferte (nominated to 2 Grammys, and winner of four Latin Grammys, among many others) with whom he wrote the single “EL” for the album Desechable.

Hugo then released other albums such as “Bajo Tus Alas”, and “Guatemala Para Cristo”. With this album, he visited countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Spain, Germany, and others in his international tour.

But Hugo Herrera not only expands his believes through music, he is also a well-known author who has written five books titled “Returning to the Essence,” “What Faith Does,” “Christianity in the Face of the Moral Crisis of the 21st Century,” “Christianity, Faith, and Ideologies,” and “Christianity and Secularization”. In his books, the Guatemalan musician shares his profound reflections on faith and life with the world.

Hugo Herrera’s greatness extends beyond just his music and literature; his influence encompasses much more. He has performed in the largest Christian churches in the world, conveying his message of hope and faith through his teaching and memorable performances. His desire to inspire and nurture new talents has led to a new generation of musicians committed to excellence and integrity.

Among his most outstanding musical works are songs like “El es el Unico,” and “A Solas Contigo.” These songs became true anthems of hope and faith and gave Herrera a large following of very faithful fans.

He currently lives in Miami and recently did an international tour visiting the churches: Church In The Way, (Los Angeles), Casa de Dios, (Guatemala), Mision Cristiana Moderna, (Spain), Fuente de Vida (Madrid), Oasis, (Costa Rica), and others.

Hugo is committed to spread a message of love, hope, and redemption with each performance, each word, and each note.
