Since its establishment in 2017 by founder Brandon Silverstein, S10 Entertainment has significantly influenced the music and entertainment sectors as an independent management company. This influence was underscored by the recent announcement on May 9, 2024, in Tokyo, where it was revealed that Avex USA has made a strategic investment in S10 Entertainment. This move not only massively expands S10’s resources but also solidifies a management partnership, building upon its existing collaboration with Roc Nation.
Partnerships and collaborations in the music industry are a cornerstone of developing rising talent and producing the latest hits. The unique aspect of the previously established partnership with Roc Nation, which brought together Brandon Silverstein and CEO Jay Brown, was its comprehensive approach. Avex USA’s entry into this unique collaboration connects the global music centers of Los Angeles and Tokyo for the first time, aiming to greatly boost the cross-promotion of international artists. The initiative is greatly bolstered by strategic financial support
from Avex USA, providing essential funding to support the success and expansion of S10 artists.
Avex USA, led by CEO Naoki Osada, is a global extension of Avex Group, Japan’s leading music and entertainment firm. The company not only supports up-and-coming artists through its dedicated production and sales related to label management but also provides commission music for composers and music for third parties across television and gaming.
Brandon Silverstein’s company already has experience working with Avex USA. The two firms have signed a number of songwriters together, including Grammy-nominated producer HARV, with a global platform. The companies have also jointly signed producers Jasper Harris, who produced Tate McRae’s “greedy,” and GENT!, the producer behind Doja Cat’s recent success, “Agora Hills.” Together, they have achieved extreme success in the music publishing business.
“We’ve achieved a tremendous amount with Brandon in recent years, and over that time, built a great trust between us,” said Naoki Osada, CEO of Avex USA. “We share a lot in common with our respective companies’ DNA, and extending our partnership was a natural and organic step. We are very grateful that Brandon, Jay, and Roc Nation have welcomed us into their family and are incredibly excited to create something truly unique and impactful through this partnership.”
Further cementing the relationship between Avex USA and S10 Entertainment, the strategic investment shows a strong commitment from the Japanese-based company to do business in the US.
Silverstein declared, “I feel incredibly fortunate to have globally-minded partners like Jay Brown, JAY Z, and the Roc Nation family. Adding the Avex team to our management ecosystem, following the immense success I’ve had with Avex in our publishing venture, was a natural progression in deepening our ever-growing relationship. Naoki Osada and the global Avex team are a true force of nature, and I am very excited about our next steps together and the limitless potential for global opportunities that our collaboration with S10, Avex, and Roc Nation opens.”
S10 Entertainment has achieved remarkable success on a worldwide scale, with the talent it has represented throughout its history. Over the past five years, S10 artists have garnered over 20 global number-one hits and amassed over 40 billion streams. This success has translated into RIAA-certified albums and singles, sold-out international tours, and extensive brand deals. Offering services across management, publishing, and investment ventures, S10 has overseen the success of music by renowned artists, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Bad Bunny. S10 currently has six songs featured on Spotify’s Global Top 50.
Avex USA’s investment in S10 Entertainment promises to solidify a strategic alliance between Japan and North America’s leading talent groups. The firm also joins a roster of other partnerships that have bolstered S10’s reach and success across the entertainment industry, including those with Max Matsuura and Simon Fuller.
These partnerships have also helped Brandon Silverstein achieve industry-wide recognition for his entrepreneurial approach to music publishing and management. The executive has been named to Billboard’s Power 100, 40 Under 40, and Latin Power lists, reflecting his influence across artists and genres and the magazine’s Executive of the Week. He has also been recognized by Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and Variety’s New Leaders reports.
